M A R K E T / / Relations and allies are welcome to join us for the fall indigenous market and powwow showcase on Saturday, Sept 21, from 10 am to 4 pm at CSpace Marda Loop.⠀
⠀
We remember our stolen children and honour our relations who are surviviors of the Residential School system 365 days a year, and September now brings us a period where we gather specifically to support one another and remind a country that continues to harm us to the fullest extent of its capability to do so that it will never erase us, our past, or our future as Indigneous people.⠀
⠀
This year, in addition to beadwork, I will have these handmade orange shirt prints featuring a Cree-Métis motif for sale. 100% of the proceeds from these go to the Indian Residential Schools Survior Society.⠀

Being an ally to Indigenous people is a 365 day a year commitment, but you will find many opportunities in September in particular to buy from Indigenous vendors who are donating the proceeds to organizations in our community who will turn those donations into support and resources for our people. I encourage you to seek these items out when you are shopping.⠀

I N P R O G R E S S / / Ripe wild rosehips are everywhere on my daily hikes right now. The little crimson orbs dot the sides of the trail, cheerful little guides in red cloaks, showing me the way. I started on this scissor pocket a few days ago to commemorate them while they're at their best, and I'm excited to see where the freehand design will take me.⠀

Come see us June 22nd, at for the Métis artisan marketplace at Mètis Fest 2024. Internet can sometimes be spotty, so those looking to shop are advised to bring backup cash.⠀

If you've never checked out Métis Fest, it's absolutely worth the trip. There are cultural activities for the whole family, music, food, dancing, and host of artisans. We hope to see you there!!⠀
