Yall welcome Div 1 Kenzie Wellz Reppin Blackfoot roots Kainia Nation

Basketball has helped shape me into the person I am today, teaching me discipline, resilience, leadership, and hard work.

In high school, I was named a 2nd Team League All-Star in 2023, a 1st Team League All-Star in 2024, and was honored as Athlete of the Year during my senior year in 2024.

My dedication to the game has also earned me interest and invitations from numerous college programs across the United States and Canada. I represented Team Alberta U19 at the North American Indigenous Games in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and competed internationally with Team USA U19 at the United World Games in Germany and Austria, where I earned a silver medal.

I have also competed in numerous tournaments throughout the United States and Canada. I continued my basketball career at Penn State Lehigh Valley and will be competing next season with Bryant & Stratton College in Rochester, New York, at the D1 USCAA level.

Basketball is more than just a sport to me — it is a passion that has created opportunities, built lifelong connections, and continues to push me to become the best version of myself.

Cashton Mah

Basketball has given me the opportunity to compete at a high level and achieve accomplishments that I am proud of. My journey has included a 4th-place finish at the Alberta Provincial Championships and the honor of representing Team Alberta at the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG).

The game has also opened the door for me to continue my athletic and academic career, as I have committed to play U SPORTS basketball for the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns.

Basketball has taught me valuable lessons in discipline, teamwork, resilience, and perseverance. These lessons continue to shape who I am both on and off the court. My goal is to take basketball as far as I can while using the experiences and opportunities it provides to grow as an athlete, student, and leader.

I am grateful for the journey, the people who have supported me along the way, and the opportunities the game continues to create.

🏀 LANDTIES NATION AMBASSADOR 🏀

Born in Canmore, Alberta and proud to be a member of the Stoney Nakoda Nation, basketball has been the most reliable thing in my life. The game has carried me through struggles, tragedies, setbacks, and challenges that many people never see. It hasn’t only shaped me through victories and achievements, but through losses and adversity. Every setback has taught me valuable lessons and helped build the person I am today.

My goal is to become a professional basketball player. I’ve always believed that if I’m in a room, I should strive to be the best version of myself and compete to be among the best. Basketball is what I love, so why not dedicate myself fully to it? Having a career built around something you’re passionate about is what most people dream of, and I work every day to turn that dream into reality.

As I prepare to begin my freshman year at Northwestern Polytechnic, I look back on a journey that has included more losses than wins. Some people might see that as unfair, but I know every challenge has played a role in getting me where I am today. I am grateful for everyone who believed in me, supported me, and helped guide me along the way.

One lesson basketball has taught me is simple:

“Never compare yourself to others. Your time will come, and it’s your responsibility to decide what you do with it.”

Basketball is more than a sport to me—it’s a teacher, a source of strength, and a pathway to the future I’m working toward every single day.

Rising ⭐️

Basketball isn’t just a sport to me—it’s my way out.

Every time I step onto the court, I’m chasing something bigger than myself. The game has taught me discipline, sacrifice, resilience, and the importance of staying committed even when the journey gets tough.

While others may see a basketball, I see opportunity. I see purpose. I see a future.

Basketball has opened doors, created experiences, and shown me that hard work can take you places you never imagined. It continues to push me to become a better athlete, a better leader, and a better person both on and off the court.

For me, basketball is more than a game—it’s a pathway to growth, success, and creating opportunities for the next generation.

Through the game, I have built meaningful relationships, gained valuable life experiences, and had opportunities to travel and connect with people from many different communities.

To me, basketball is more than just a sport—it is a passion that has opened doors, challenged me to grow, and helped me become the person I am today. The lessons I have learned through the game continue to guide how I approach life, overcome challenges, and support those around me.

Pukatawagan, Manitoba 🤞🏾

Basketball has been one of the biggest influences in my life. I started playing in Grade 8, never realizing how far the game would take me or how much it would shape the person I would become.

The game earned me the opportunity to compete at Keyano College, where I spent four years playing at the collegiate level. During that time, our team achieved undefeated seasons, captured an ACAC Championship, and won a National Championship. Those experiences taught me the value of hard work, teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

Basketball has taken me across Canada from coast to coast, throughout the United States, and most recently overseas to Portugal. Along the way, I have met incredible people, experienced different cultures, and created lifelong memories that I never thought possible.

More than a sport, basketball has been a source of healing, motivation, and personal growth. It has helped me overcome challenges, stay focused on my goals, and become a stronger leader both on and off the court.

As an Indigenous athlete, I take pride in representing my community and showing young people that their dreams are achievable regardless of where they come from. Success comes through commitment, dedication, and believing in yourself.

As a Landties Nation Ambassador, I hope to inspire the next generation to chase their goals, work hard, and never give up on their dreams. I am grateful for every opportunity basketball has provided and look forward to using my journey to encourage others to create their own path to success.

“Represent your people. Trust your journey. Never stop believing.”

Samson Cree Nation • Piikani • Tsuu T’ina • Sagamok Anishnawbek

My name is Kasha Bre Caibaiosai, and I am a second-year student-athlete at Red Deer Polytechnic, competing with the Queens Basketball program.

My basketball journey began in junior high and took a major step forward when I moved to Red Deer at 17 years old to pursue my dream of becoming a collegiate athlete. Since then, basketball has taken me across North America, allowing me to compete at events such as the North American Basketball Invitational in Phoenix, the North American Indigenous Games in Halifax, the Adidas Circuit in Bryan, Texas, and numerous Indigenous and non-Indigenous tournaments throughout the continent.

At Red Deer Polytechnic, I have had the opportunity to compete against some of Alberta’s top programs and was honored to receive the Rookie of the Year Award in 2026.

Basketball has taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of fitness, recovery, and self-care. More importantly, it has strengthened my connection to my culture. Through Native basketball tournaments, I have built lifelong relationships, embraced my identity, and found a strong sense of belonging within Indigenous communities across Turtle Island.

The game continues to keep me grounded while teaching me the value of sacrifice, perseverance, and dedication—not only for my own goals but for my family and community. Every challenge has fueled my growth as an athlete, student, and person.

Basketball is more than a sport to me—it is a pathway to opportunity, cultural connection, and personal growth.

🔥 Landties Nation is proud to welcome Kasha Bre Caibaiosai as a Landties Nation Ambassador. Representing her Nations, community, and future generations with pride both on and off the court. 🏀🦅
