I knew that one day Riv.Creative would come back. As always, my creative learning has taken me down another rabbit hole.

Welcome to Riv.Pottery!!! I've join up with some other local potters and we've created The Collective - Handmade Pottery! You'll find us and my handmade creations around local markets. Between markets I'll have my peices for sale locally through this page.

And because I can't stop, of course there will be yarn bowls and stitch markers and knitting themed jewellery.... 🧶

Totally unintentionally.

After 9 months of (almost) monogamous knitting, what would have been my sweater was cast off and soaking last night. Any other year it would have been blocking in the car, on the ferry and in a hotel room.

Also, after 5 months of stalling, the hangers of .creative were emptied. 💔

Neither of these were planned for this week but the universe seems to have my number this year.

I'm trying to think of it all as reminders of how much I have gained from my knitting friends, how much positive energy I get, how much you all challenge me in so, so many good ways that involve both stitches and not.

Changes are that if you've read this far, you (yes, you) have crossed my mind lately 💕

It's a good thing we didn't try and do this while socially distancing... Cause you know it's all about the hugs. 🤗.

I started a sock. It wanted an adventure. So I took it on one. My came along too. Not even the massive multi-fingertip burn could stop our adventures.
Life is SO full of adventures right now. Milestone birthdays, family firsts (and lasts!) and the newest member of the family, my paddleboard. 🏄‍♀️

creative is going to take a pause. I'm not too sure how I feel about it, but I've had enough hints from the universe that I know it's the thing to do.

Everything in my shop is on sale for 25% off, share the news and help them go to happy homes!

When I started my Etsy shop I had a sort of mission statment (see the last image). I can honestly say I've made so many lasting connections and can't thank you all enough for being on the other half. Be it an Etsy order, or a friend that I see at the same festival year after year. While the .creative shop might be closed, I will still be here. 🥰

My mantra has always been create with joy. So I know one day .creative will be back in one shape or another, because I do so love creating.

The universe sometimes has great plans.

I started these socks for as previous attempts at putting wool on her feet failed due to size judgement. They were just supposed to be an "I love you" gift.

As I turned the heel and knit down the foot of the second sock, I realized it was two weeks away from her birthday.

I always give the girls a handmade gift for their birthdays and Christmas, and it had completely escaped my mind...

Let's hope they fit her this time... We'll know tomorrow!

Current status; organzied chaos.

Making face masks for family and friends is not something I ever imagined, nevermind using prized stash and fabric that was destined for Knit City bags.

Nor was spending all day everyday with my children trying to keep them engaged (and not at each other's throats).

Or doing all of this while working my day job from home.

I was so overwhelmed with electronic notifications last week I turned them all off. So it was SUCH a lovely surprise to see a whole ton of orders in the shop when I checked this weekend. 😊

I am so very lucky in many aspects of this situation and so thankful every day.

What's your current status? I'd love to know. 💕
