Would you look at that!

In April, I posted a picture of my father‘s “Rusty Rat” fly fishing hat, and shortly after that, I received two orders for the exact same hat. The design has been slightly improved in this version, and since these guys don’t typically fish out of a boat, I didn’t put the chin straps on them which really makes them look a little cleaner and more refined. Both are made with 100% rabbit felt from the Czech Republic, the brown one is a little lighter weight. Hopefully, someday the owners of these hats will pass them down to their children! A good fur felt that should last a lifetime!

The Open Damn! By Dempsey Custom Hats

Today I present to you, a new hat I just finished called “The Open Damn!” A play on words, bragging rights to the first person who can tell me how I come up with the name.

It is a two for one hat, the client really wanted his dad’s old tie for the band incorporated that also into the liner, but just in case he wanted something more formal for a night on the town, I have another band underneath the tie!

Heading off on a 2 hour drive to see Mando in IMAX, living in Canada’s smallest province, we do not have an IMAX theater, this will be my first.

One of my favourite, Indy inspired but not screen accurate, hats. (Taller version of a Temple style) suits me better than my more accurate versions.
