“We have some grassland donors coming to the pasture if Ruby and you would like to meet us there,” my husband Lee said.

“Sure.”

So we scrubbed the dirt off our faces, attempted to brush the fairy knots out of our hair, and headed down.

One of the donors looked me up and down and asked, with genuine curiosity, “Where did you find THAT shirt? It looks like a man's shirt.”

Without missing a beat, I replied, “Oh, it probably belonged to a dead man. I bought it at the Sally Ann.”

They blinked.

The conversation moved on.

A little later, between chats, I discovered that this particular donor owned a company whose products I drink daily.

Huh.

If I could have a redo, I would.
