🤎Hey Bantu babes, did you miss us? Cause we missed you

🤎Come celebrate Black History Month with us at our very first Paint Night event in collaboration with & .

🤎We’re proud to introduce our featured artist, Joyce Nseya — a self-taught, Calgary-based artist of Congolese descent. Working in acrylic painting and digital art, Joyce’s work radiates depth, vibrancy, and emotion.Through bold colour and intentional storytelling, she creates pieces that go beyond what first meets the eye — inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and truly connect.

Inspired by the human experience, her art is an extension of herself. Each piece translates lived moments, perspective, and feeling into powerful visual narratives. By sharing her work in diverse spaces, Joyce allows us to see pieces of ourselves reflected on her canvas.

🤎Join us for an evening of art, culture, and connection.

Photo dump from one of our earlier (and one of my personal faves) shoots.
Most of our shoots are super casual — we hand our models a few Bantu pieces and let them style the look.

Because one thing about the Diaspora? We’re not a monolith. Neither is our style.

We love seeing how you rock Bantu, in your own way — because being an "IT" girl (or person) starts with being yourself.

Happy Friday, babes ✨

Dear Black Girl,

After watching Love Island this season, it’s impossible not to name the hate and double standards Black women like Chelley and Olandria have faced.

So this is for you.

In this space, you are allowed to be.
To be soft. To be vulnerable.
To be angry. To feel the weight of your Blackness—and to lay it down.
To dance, to laugh, to celebrate all that you are and all that you are not—beyond the boxes the world puts you in.

To and : Black girl to Black girl, thank you.
It was a joy to watch you take up space.
You reminded us—we are worthy.

When I started making hair clips by hand, I didn’t realize I was also piecing together parts of myself—my style, my roots, my joy.

For so many of us, hair is more than just hair. It’s memory. It’s mood. It’s our crown.

These clips are small, but they carry care. Made to honour that everyday ritual of getting ready—not just to be seen, but to be felt.

Poll: What does your hair say about you?

Save this if it resonates. 💛

Happy Father’s Day
To every dad, stepdad, granddad, father figure, and the ones we miss. To those who show up — in all the ways that matter.
We see you. We thank you. We love you.

P.s - how gorgeous is this photo by ? This image feels like fatherhood to us. The strength and stillness, the intellect and tenderness, that define fatherhood.
The stack of books reminds us of our own dad — an academic through and through — and the teacup, a quiet tribute to his love for tea (happy Father's Day ol'boy, we love you) ✨
