I’ve been thinking about this print for a while.

Heart month is coming up and I think it’s the perfect time to launch this limited edition print. For me, my open heart surgery scars tell my CHD story. From my classic sternum scar, to my ribs, my back, my neck and hands. They tell a story of fight, determination, perseverance and most importantly all the times God has blessed me through difficult times.

For others, their scars represent different battles - scars of a surgery, trauma (physical or mental), injury or chronic illness. Our scars tell our story of battles won and overcome and they make us who we are.

We will be launching this print on presale only for the month of February and we will be donating a portion of the profits to the Mazankowski Heart Institute. Stay tuned for more presale details.

This is Ryan. We have been great friends since 2006.

We have been talking about kindness a lot lately on this page and today Ryan displayed an incredible act of kindness and generosity that I never expected.

He’s a baller who has a very impressive Air Jordan shoe collection. I have never balled and do not have a Jordan shoe collection, but have always loved the Air Jordan Concords that were originally released in 1996. 26 years later, Ryan, after we had a conversation about the “ones that got away”, sourced out a pair of brand new Air Jordan Concords in my size and traded in his NEVER WORN Air Jordan Concords out of his collection for me.

If you know anything about these shoes, you know that they are next to impossible to find. This is almost an unbelievable/surreal moment for me. I know they are just shoes, but for Ryan to give up his shoes for me was a big deal.

Ryan- I’m so grateful for our friendship and overwhelmed by your kindness. I hope I can one day show this much kindness back to you.

Change in Hard.

As we sat on our lake cabin deck for the last time, K and I had a great conversation with my Dad about change.

Change is hard, especially when you’re losing something in your life. But what makes change easier? For us, it’s remembering that God guides our paths and is in control. If His plan includes the change in your life, that change will happen.

We also talked about prayer + thanksgiving. During times of change, praying for His guidance and giving thanks for all the blessings, memories and opportunities.
