🌺Evolution Through Pain🌺
This is just one of dozens of photos taken a year and a half ago. I was shooting the entire Solar collection to launch on our old website. On the same day, once we wrapped shooting I had the ENTIRE collection stolen out of my vehicle. For those who have joined us on this online journey recently this may be news to you and for our supporters who have been around forever I’m sure you remember this.
It was absolutely devastating. I wasn’t sure I wanted to keep going with this business when it happened. It made me take a huge step back and evaluate what I wanted out of my life.
I never released any of the photos from this shoot cause the point seemed moot. I couldn’t even bare to look at any of them until recently. Not because they aren’t great but because they held energy that I couldn’t handle to feel. I was riddled with so much sadness and guilt. It wasn’t just our creations that were taken from us, it was also an entire line of one of my dearest friends creations too. is one of the most inspiring artists I’ve ever met and was a huge driving force in my decision to start Solar Opposites. I felt sick with guilt over potentially hurting our friendship and losing her work also.
In the end, everything worked out and this loss created so much goodness in my life. I had no choice but to be weirdly grateful for the whole thing.
We evolved through the pain and came out shinier than ever. The entire business model for Solar Opposites shifted into something more sustainable. Eventually everything made complete sense.
I’ve decided I’m going to start sharing more photos from the collection that once was. Not to grieve the pieces but to celebrate all the time and effort that went into them regardless of where they ended up💖
