In 2019, after 30 years of Credit Creek in Belfountain, I decided to close our doors there and plan a move to the Town of Erin. I was excited to reopen in my new location on March 1, 2020. Little did I know that just two weeks later, COVID would have arrived in full force. Like other small businesses and the communities we serve, the past 18 months have been a rollercoaster of closures and reopenings, isolation from friends and family, and questions about what the future would bring. For me, an even more difficult time came with the unexpected death of my husband, John Pugh, in March of this year. After all of this, and after a great deal of thought, I have decided to close Credit Creek at the end of August.
Over the next few weeks, I hope to see all of you as we prepare for closing. I'll have great deals for you on all our remaining fashions, accessories and home goods. It will be a pleasure to see you as I complete this very important chapter of my life and prepare for the next.
Credit Creek has been at the centre of my life for more than 3 decades, and leaving it behind will be very difficult. At the same time, I look forward to spending more time with my sisters and discovering what comes next for me. I will remember with fondness and gratitude all of you who helped make Credit Creek a success over these many years. I hope to see you soon.
