Golden girl life. I have to hem it still and iron it, but the is such a good pattern (no pattern to print...cut based on your measurements).
This is my 8th version. I was bored yesterday and saw this flashy fabric in my stash that I've had for years and thought... another envelope dress is happening. Very beginner friendly pattern/zero waste. I highly recommend it. Give it a go!

Anybody sewing today?

These were quick photos I took to show my friend Nicole what I was making...I made these garments early December. I wore one option to a work party and the other for a Christmas day dinner with my family at the Keg in the Falls.
These are all pretty simple garments made from knit fabrics.

The skirt is by pattern for pirates (free pattern) the top with the high neck is by true bias and the other boxy type top is by Elizabeth Suzanne

The pencil skirt is easy!!! You can make it with very little sewing experience.

The others are also quite simple too!

Let me know if you try any!

Have a good weekend.

I was texting my friend Jo when I took these quick photos... they aren't great.... but coming into the weekend, and if you're looking to sew something quick and easy, this pattern foots the bill!
These are the Pomona Pants by Anna Allen clothing. One pattern piece. Two if you add pockets. It comes with a tapered leg option (very good) or a sailor leg like mine here. This fabric was gifted to me by a lovely lady named Liz. The fabric is from her late Mother's travels around the world. Her mother was a beautiful seamstress. I'm so lucky to have inherited her lovely fabrics.

I think the top is the by Sew Liberated...another fab pattern.

Happy weekend sewing!

A nice pattern to try if you like to sew. It's a bathing suit pattern but doubles well for a sports bra, underwear or sleep wear.

I should have made this earlier this summer to sleep in while roasting upstairs on hot nights, even with the air on....
Anyhow, the makes for a cozy garment set for sleep wear or lounging I suppose too. I have made the pattern as intended for a bathing suit and it is a great pattern. I'll post that another time.
This is cheap knit and not perfect by any means, but just fine for what I wanted to try.

I've been sewing up some Georgia tees in beautiful black linen. (Done now)...
I don't need them, so I'll be posting them for sale. They are beautiful. I will be pricing them based on what other Etsy type makers sell their similar linen styles at.
$100 plus range.
I know it isn't going to be feasible for everyone but I want to compensate myself properly for the process from purchasing to laundering to pattern tracing to making!

This pattern is by Elizabeth Suzann. She made her patterns available to the public to sew up during covid. The pattern is size inclusive and looks beautiful on everyone. You can look at the site to view the style if you like. I have two made in a light summery weight black linen. One in size OS and the other size OSP. I also have an army green made in size OS in an everyday (slightly heavier) linen. Also lovely.
I fit both but prefer the OSP on me for room/ease. I wear a size 14-16.
I'll post some photos later, but they won't be nearly as nice as what you'll see online.

Thanks for reading!

I have made these patterns so many times now and they don't disappoint. These are great beginner patterns to work to build skills with then to play around with...pants, shorts, midi pants, tank, tank dress add a ruffle, change the neckline etc...

Patterns by Friday pattern company and Grainline studio

*Shorts made from a pants pattern

* Tank shortened a bit to sit more at my hip

A day off and the house to myself made time for a new dress and now a martini to go along with it.
lengthened into a dress. Size 14 with the bust dart option. I added 17" I believe. Pattern by true bias.
Made with a thrifted retro looking fabric....a cotton blend that is made to feel silky like. Light and airy for battling the summer heat.

I made an enlarged replica bib for a customer today.
I imagine she used this bib when she was a baby herself. The design is quite smart. Little elastics go over the baby's feet to anchor the bib to the entire body keeping their clothes clean.

My finished in some donated to me ;) old fabric from another's stash. I made the XL and lengthened the pants 1" and hemmed just over 1cm up with a surged finished edge. If doubling the hem I'd add 2" next time.
The top is lengthened 2" with the cross over area stitched closed upward from the waistband about 2 ish inches so no one can see in ;) No elastic in the tops waistband because I don't need it as my waist is thick and this option is more comfortable.

The mirror makes me look slimmer than I am, but it's not to dupe anyone or myself...it's to fit myself into the available mirror.

This is a great pattern and it makes a very comfortable loungewear set.
