🚨 ALBERTA TODAY — EPISODE 16

DONATIONS TO MARKAZ UL ISLAM — WHY PRESTIGE JEWELLERS?

Alberta Today has previously raised questions about Facebook donation appeals connected to Markaz-Ul-Islam Fort McMurray that directed donors to an account associated with Prestige Jewellers.

So far, we have not received an explanation from Markaz-Ul-Islam addressing these questions.

That leaves some very basic questions:

❓ Why were donors directed to a separate business account?

❓ How many times were donations collected this way?

❓ Over what period?

❓ How much money went through the business account?

❓ Was every dollar transferred into Markaz-Ul-Islam’s financial records?

❓ Who controlled the account?

❓ Was there a written agreement or authorization for this arrangement?

❓ Were the transactions properly recorded and reported?

These aren’t questions about religion.

These are questions about fundraising, financial controls and transparency.

The CRA's guidance on third-party fundraisers says a charity can use a third party for fundraising in appropriate circumstances, but the charity should maintain control over donated funds and be able to provide the CRA with a full accounting.

Alberta’s charitable-fundraising rules also require organizations that solicit donations to maintain complete and accurate financial records and records of solicitations.

MARKAZ UL ISLAM — THE COMMUNITY IS WAITING FOR ANSWERS.

If there is a legitimate explanation for the Prestige Jewellers arrangement, tell the community and show the documentation.

Silence only creates more questions.

Alberta Today will continue asking.

This publication raises questions based on material reviewed by Alberta Today. It does not allege that the donation arrangement was unlawful or that anyone committed wrongdoing. Markaz-Ul-Islam is invited to provide its response and supporting documentation.

🇨🇦 DANIELLE SMITH WANTS CANADA TO BEG THE USA? 🇺🇸

Seriously, Alberta?

While Canada is standing up for itself in the trade war, Danielle Smith keeps pushing a message that sounds like Canada should simply give in and beg Washington for a better deal.

That’s not Alberta leadership.
That’s not standing up for Canadian interests.
And that’s certainly not putting Alberta first.

🇨🇦 Canada doesn’t need to beg. Canada needs to stand strong.

Alberta has the resources, the workers and the economic power to be a major player, but we need leadership that negotiates from strength, not desperation.

Alberta deserves a Premier who stands with Canada, not one who tells Canada to bow to America.

🇨🇦 CANADA IS NOT FOR SALE.

🚨 DANIELLE SMITH CAN’T EVEN EXPLAIN HER OWN SEPARATION REFERENDUM PLAN

Just days ago, Danielle Smith was talking about a possible second referendum in spring 2027 if Option 2 wins on October 19.

Now she says it’s “more complicated than that” because Alberta legislation may prevent a referendum within one year of a general election.

So which is it, Premier?

❓ Did you have a legal plan when you were promising Albertans a second referendum?

❓ Or were you making promises before knowing whether they were legally possible?

❓ Why are Albertans being asked to vote on a path toward separation without clear answers about what happens next?

This isn’t a game.

A vote for Option 2 could begin a constitutional process that affects every Albertan, every family, and Alberta’s future within Canada.

Albertans deserve clarity BEFORE they vote, not confusion AFTER.

Danielle Smith needs to stop playing politics with Alberta’s future and give Albertans the full truth.

🇨🇦 Alberta’s future is too important for political games.

ALBERTA TODAY — WE ASK THE QUESTIONS OTHERS WON’T.

08/27/2026

🚨 ALBERTANS — HOW MANY MORE?

Have you lost a loved one because of delays or failures in Alberta’s healthcare system?

Have you or someone in your family suffered because you couldn’t get timely medical care?

Have you watched a loved one wait for hours in an emergency department, struggle to find a doctor, or go without the care they desperately needed?
Then we need to hear your story.

Should political leaders be held accountable when government decisions contribute to failures in our healthcare system?

Danielle Smith and the UCP must answer to Albertans.

📢 If you have a personal experience, share it.
Tell us what happened, when it happened, and how it affected your family.

People deserve to be heard.
Healthcare is about human lives, not politics, profits, or privatization.

🇨🇦 JASON KENNEY CALLS OUT DANIELLE SMITH’S HYPOCRISY

Former Alberta premier Jason Kenney is questioning why Alberta is taking oil and gas off the table in the tariff fight with the United States.

Let’s be honest: Alberta has one of the most powerful economic cards Canada can play energy.

Yet Danielle Smith keeps talking tough about standing up for Alberta while refusing to use the very leverage that could put real pressure on Washington.

🤔 If Alberta has the power to negotiate from strength, why is Danielle Smith taking that option off the table?

You can’t claim to be fighting for Alberta while voluntarily giving away Alberta’s strongest bargaining chip.

Enough hypocrisy. Alberta deserves leadership that puts Alberta’s interests first, not political posturing.

🇨🇦 Our energy is Canadian. Our strength is Canadian. And Alberta should never be afraid to use its leverage.

08/26/2026

🚨 ALBERTA’S HEALTHCARE CRISIS IS NOT AN ACCIDENT.

Albertans are waiting for hours, sometimes even days in overcrowded emergency departments, while some patients are left without proper beds and forced to wait in unacceptable conditions.

And Albertans have to ask:
Is this failure being allowed to grow because privatization benefits the government’s political and financial allies?

Danielle Smith keeps pushing Alberta toward more privatization while our public healthcare system struggles.
Albertans deserve a healthcare system focused on patients, not profits.

🏥 Healthcare is a public service, not an investment opportunity.
It’s time for transparency, accountability, and a government that puts Albertans before private interests.
Enough is enough. Alberta deserves better.

🚨 THE LAST NAIL IN THE COFFIN OF THE UCP? 🚨

Former Alberta premiers Rachel Notley and Jason Kenney may disagree on plenty, but when it comes to protecting Canada and standing against Alberta separation, they are on the same side. 🇨🇦

That should send a powerful message to Albertans:

👉 This isn’t about left vs. right.
👉 It’s about Alberta’s future.
👉 And it’s about keeping Alberta strong within Canada.

When former leaders from opposite sides of Alberta politics can stand together for Canada, it raises a serious question:

Is Danielle Smith’s separation agenda pushing the UCP further and further away from the mainstream Alberta that wants a strong province inside a strong Canada?

🇨🇦 Alberta is stronger in Canada.

🇨🇦 ALBERTA DESERVES A PREMIER WHO WILL STAND UP FOR ALBERTANS — AND CANADA

Across Canada, premiers have pushed back against Donald Trump’s bullying and stood up for Canadian jobs, businesses, and our national interests.

But Alberta deserves better than a premier who seems more interested in political games than standing united with Canadians.

Albertans are fed up.

Danielle Smith promised strong leadership. Instead, many Albertans see division, confrontation, and a government that keeps putting politics ahead of Alberta’s long-term interests.

And let’s remember the history.

Danielle Smith and Brian Jean helped destroy the Wildrose Party.

Now, many Albertans are asking:

👉 Are they going to do the same to the Conservative movement in Alberta?

If this government continues down this road, the next provincial election could mark the end of the UCP era in Alberta.

Alberta needs leadership that protects our economy, stands up for our province, and works with Canada, not against it.

Albertans are watching. 🇨🇦

08/22/2026

🇨🇦 CANADA IS DRAWING A LINE.

Prime Minister Mark Carney has suspended trade negotiations with the United States after last-minute changes to proposed U.S. terms were described as unfair and uneconomic.

At midnight, the U.S. plans to impose 50% tariffs on roughly $28 billion of Canadian goods. Canada says it will respond dollar-for-dollar to protect Canadian workers and businesses.

But there is a bigger message here:

Canada will not accept a deal at any price or on any deadline.

The federal government says the strategy is clear:

🔹 Protect Canadian businesses and workers
🔹 Defend key strategic industries
🔹 Diversify Canada’s trading partnerships
🔹 Build Canada’s economic strength at home
🔹 Protect Canada’s independence and sovereignty

And Alberta should be paying close attention.

Our province has enormous resources, a powerful energy sector and businesses that depend on stable access to markets.

Alberta doesn’t need more division. Alberta needs more markets, more investment, more trade partners and a stronger Canadian economy.

Canada already has preferential access to 1.5 billion consumers through existing free-trade agreements and the federal government says it is on track to double that market access by the end of this year.

🇨🇦 Canada can stand strong without standing alone.

The question now is simple:

Will Alberta help build a stronger Canada or keep putting all our economic eggs in one basket?
