This gorgeous spring bride Amanda came to me with her dress that needed some repair work and some major tailoring to fit her correctly. No seam went untouched! Side seams came in all the way down, did a b***y scoop to contour the back, niped in the princess seams under the bust, and did some bust contouring to get that sculpted look.

This delicate Chantilly lace needed some repair work, as did the broken loops and missing buttons along the centre back. All were removed and started fresh. Buttons were tea dyed to match the existing ones.

The full lace hemline was unpicked and shortened, and I added a 7 point Lower American Bustle, disguised to look like 3.

Each fitting I felt like I was catching up with an old friend and we literally talked for hours! I cannot say enough sweet things about this gem of a bride. ❤️

It's been a hot min since I've posted, but here I am forcing myself back on socials to show off some of the stunning pictures I've recieved! 🥳

This gorgeous Bride is Courtney, I worked on her sparkle gown last fall. She was like a real life Jessica Rabbit in this gown.. it was truly the perfect dress for her. 🔥
Her fully bead encrusted gown needed to be tapered down along the side seams, tighten along the top neckline, 4 layers hemmed, 9 point ballroom bustle and a cute little ring bearer pillow made from her hemline cut offs. The last detail was cleaning up the edge of the top of her dress, as the sequins were like a million sharp razor blades. I removed as many as possible, and added a tulle edge that would give a soft layer of protection against the skin while wearing.

I love these pics of their beautiful wedding, and wishing this couple a Happy, almost, 1st Anni. 🥰

This custom prom look was for my girl
Maya. I Looooove that she still trusts me to sew for her special moments in life. 🪡🧵

Maya had a solid vision of what she wanted and knew she'd never find anything close to it in a store. 5 days before prom, the process began.. those who know me, know that my best work is done under PReSSuRE!!!! 🔥

We had some late nights digging through my trims and ribbons, dying everything black, pulling apart jewelry so we could steal the chains, pendants, and a crucifix. Making garters and pocket squares to adorn the look. I just kept layering layering layering the details on.
The best part was the skirt conversion.. ruching that skirt from a maxi to a mini for the first time we were both like Daaammn..what have we created!! 👀🙌

Thanks Maya, for giving me a break from all the white dresses and letting me do a deep dive into creativity. Memories made.

Peek-a-boo bustle! ✨️

I love doing this bustle on plain dresses that don't have a lot of lace or beadwork to disguise the hardware needed for bustling.

I never use the existing dress buttons for bustling as they break easily, and I've heard enough bustle horror stories of these buttons not holding up for the night of dancing.

For this dress, I did a lower 3 point American Bustle. The points are stacked on top of each other, so the finished look is disgused, looking like a 1 point bustle. I open up the seam and reinforce it, creating a button hole. The bustle button gets stitched to the inside seam allowance, so it's all hidden when the train is down. When it comes time to bustle, you just pop the bustle button out through the button hole and bustle the train on the sturdier button.

The last pic is the final bustled look! 🪄✨️

Back in February, Jena was one of my first brides in 2024. 🎉 Their destination, Vegas desert wedding, looked AmAzINg!!! 😍

For Jena's dress it was a total resize. When she brought it to me, it was about 5 sizes too big. It was hard to see the actusl silhouette of the dress when she was swimming in it! I shrunk all the seams down from the top of the dress to the hemline. I removed the swag sleeves did a b***y scoop and hemmed it (she had fantastic pink Barbie shoes, but I forgot to take a pic!! )

At the final fitting it was so nice to see the dress actually hug her figure...Gorgeous!! And I loooved getting pics of the actual day! 🙌 Happy ever after Jena! ❤️
