I wanted to share something personal with you all.
I'm the person behind 709 Frequency, a small independent creative brand from Glovertown, Newfoundland. Everything you see and hear comes from my own imagination, experiences and the things I’ve wanted to express but haven’t always known how to put into words.
I create music and graphics inspired by anxiety, depression, overthinking, nostalgia, Newfoundland culture and the everyday battles that people don't always see. Sometimes, it's easier to express what’s going on inside your head through a song, a visual or even a bit of dark humour than it is to explain it to someone.
That's what 709 Frequency means to me. ❤️
I'm not here pretending to have all the answers and I'm certainly not claiming that music can fix everything. I'm just one person trying to turn the noise in my own head into something creative that might mean something to somebody else.
Sometimes, you have to learn to dance with your panic instead of letting it control every step.
That's the heart behind what I'm creating. Music you can move to, even on the days when your mind won't give you a break. Graphics that represent the feelings we sometimes struggle to explain. A little nostalgia, a little humour, some Newfoundland spirit and a reminder that there's more to us than our hardest days.
My music brings together dance beats, emotional moments and the reality of living with an anxious mind. My graphics bring those feelings to life through the characters, symbols and stories of the 709 Frequency world.
I'm sharing this here because I hope my creations might bring someone a little comfort, a moment of escape, a reason to smile or even the energy to get up and dance when anxiety is trying to keep them down.
If you're struggling with anxiety, depression or those battles that nobody else can see, I hope you know you're not alone in feeling this way.
You don't have to be completely healed to enjoy life. You don't have to have everything figured out and you don't have to hide the messy parts of being human.
I'm building 709 Frequency one song, one graphic and one idea at a time, right here in Newfoundland. It's a small, independent project, but the hope behind it is bigger than me: to create something people can connect with and feel understood through.
