Hello everyone! As my portfolio is expanding and my business taking off, I'm finding it harder and harder to dedicate the time for managing my social media. I've made the decision to focus my attention on Instagram and TikTok. I'll leave my page up, but I won't be updating it in the future. Iced tea still counts as afternoon tea, right? It’s been way too hot and humid here recently, and as much as I love my daily tea, I can’t possibly imagine drinking anything hot right now.

I’ve been taking the progress shots for the Dumpling Rabbit pattern. Not including a small moment of frustration yesterday when my computer deleted three hours of work, I’ve made good progress so far! I’ve got the construction pictures for the rabbit finished, and now I’m just working on the clothes.

Hopefully this means I’ll be ready to put out a test knit call for a release at the end of October. (But I’ve got a sock pattern coming out first in September!)

A Dumpling Rabbit pattern is in production! For those of you who would prefer to knit your own Dumpling Rabbit than to get one pre-made, I’m working on writing up and pattern and taking progress shots for any complicated steps. It’s gonna take me a while, but I’m hoping to get it out by this fall, so watch for a tester call!

Is anyone else dreaming of fall yet? I think the heat and humidity is getting to me a bit. I know it’s only mid-July, I’m ready for cozy sweaters, comfy knit socks, and hot cups of tea…

The Misty Mornings pattern is live!

There’s something special about misty mornings. The world feels quiet and still, the air chilly and calm, as the rising sun refracts through millions of tiny water droplets. The cables on these ankle socks mimic the way mist twines its way through trees and buildings, before it slowly rises to reveal the dawning day. I knit these ones up with Organic Barefoot Sock in Cirrus (which is soooooo soft and comfy!)

Two more days before the Misty Mornings pattern is live!

We’ve had a lot of misty mornings here recently. Like, about a weeks worth. I always get an extra boost of serotonin when I wear my Misty Mornings socks and sit by the window, drinking my tea and looking out at the foggy harbour. It’s like my own private little joke!

Watch for the pattern release this Friday, July 7th.

It’s the anniversary of the Afternoon Tea socks! I’ve always imagined these socks would look so cute in a pair of mary jane shoes, with the cuff folded down, paired with a sundress or pleated shorts.

Only one more week until the Misty Mornings sock knitting pattern comes out!

I love mist and fog. Growing up in Alberta, it wasn’t something I saw often. The first time I saw mist often was when I was living in B.C. The mist would crawl down the mountains, twining through the trees. It was like an enchanted forest! Now, living in Halifax, I see mist almost everyday, and I still love it!

A new friend has arrived at the Classical Songbird studio.

For the time being, I’ve been calling him dumpling rabbit (because the initial sample for his head looked inexplicably like a dumpling), but I’m workshopping some other names. Dumpling rabbit and his friends will soon be sold in my shop as finished objects, and I might write up a pattern as well if there’s enough interest!
