I wanted to do the whole waist alteration but there was way too much footage so I'll do it in two parts! This first part is just the felling of the back center seam. I've tried this all kinds of different ways: just pressing the fell; pinning the fell; but I find that putting in stay stitches gives me the cleanest and neatest result without anything moving around.
Make sure you spend a ton of time pounding out the thick spots with a mallet or just a hammer (be careful not to damage the fabric).
I save time measuring by using magnets on my scissors....best. hack. ever.
When I have more space one day I'd love to have a double needle chainstitch fell but this works well for now!
How does my technique compare to yours?
