Meet Jim and David. Two gentlemen you will be better off for having known. They found each other later in life at a place neither of them thought they’d be… a Christian gay retreat. Jim, having twelve-stepped his way to faith in his fifties and David, having lost his wife to cancer, both moved through dark seasons of despair to find a life and love they never thought possible.

Their story is one of authenticity, hope and surprising joy. It may help you see the rainbow in the clouds and the unicorn around the corner 🌈🦄 Grab a tea, settle in and join us for episode 4 of .

So this just came in the mail and I can’t wait to read it 💙 Truthfully, I don’t know when that’ll be since I’m up to my eyeballs in textbooks, papers and deadlines at the moment… BUT I couldn’t not get this book. I’m grateful for all I’ve learned from her already.

My very first podcast episode was called Body Not For Consumption and it’s about ways in which we sometimes feel not at home in our own bodies - more aware of how they look than how we feel in them. For me it was surprising, coming to know that for myself and finding out about it in an embodied way. Feeling my knees wobble as I passed by other humans on a trail and recognizing all the fear and insecurity I held within. I imagine this book will help me make even more sense of those experiences.

Is it cool to connect my art to a beloved writer’s book? I don’t know. I’m pretty new to this Instagram stuff. But the podcast, these carvings, the poem sprang from a deep well of disconnection. And it’s helpful to know there are others of us out there trying to find our way home.

So for anyone who’s ever felt not at home in their own body, for “anyone who has ever felt unsafe, unloved, or insufficient in their own skin”…

I go with you. You go with me. We go together. We go with God.

Thanks for everything you do You’re a warm and welcome light on the path.

Sometimes swimming in silence is peaceful. Sometimes it feels like drowning. Often I can write about a thing before I can speak about it. And it usually takes a storm to push me to shore. I’ve learned to pay attention to the storm, not to fear the swell and to be grateful for my boat ✍️

HEADS UP: We’re talking about su***de on this one. If that is activating for you, you may want to have some strategies on hand to deal with the discomfort that arises: walk away if you need to, listen with a friend, take a few deep breaths, have some tea. If you have kids around, you may want to listen with your headphones on or at another time. Take good care of yourself.

If you or someone you know is thinking about su***de, remember that you are not alone. Reach out and talk.

On episode 2 of I sit down with my friend Nancy Bird for a conversation about life, the not-for-profit sector and what it’s like to find yourself lost between two cribs.

With twins still in diapers and a self she barely recognized, Nancy made a gut-wrenching decision to leave her marriage and set out on a new path - one far different than the one she imagined.

An executive, nana and mother figure to many, Nancy shares her life experience with wisdom, humour and a whole lotta honesty.

For our daughters, our sons, ourselves.

I wrote this poem to try to make sense of a feeling. The feeling of not being at home in my body - of being more aware of how it looks than how I feel in it. This excerpt recognizes it wasn’t always this way…

Full poem comes with every t-shirt and tote bag.

Made with joy. Hope you enjoy.
