I've received some questions about how to best take photos of what work you're looking to have done, when you email in your request. Today, I made an example for you!
Here is a coat that has popped some seams under the arms (a common stress point) so I made sure to include pictures that showed enough of the garment to show where on the coat the repair needs to be done, and at least one close up shot of the damage, in clear light, with a good view of the seam I'll be working on. If this were a button or zipper replacement, the images would look almost identical, except the zoomed in shot would be of where the missing button needs to be replaced.
For this example, fit was not relevant to the repair; I only need to return the garment to it's original state. Because of that, the photos could be taken of the garment lying on a flat surface. If your request regards alertering the fit of an item, please include at least one image of either the wearer in the garment or the garment lying flat, beside a similar, existing item that looks more or less how you envision the result for your altered piece. This should be a picture of an actual piece of clothing, not a screenshot.
