This Royal Doulton Commemorative plate was only sold in Canada! This piece represents the blend of Canada’s European culture, circa 1935.
This ornamental plate, long discontinued, depicts a maple tree with a rose, thistle, shamrock, and fleur-de-lis entwined around its trunk. The rose represents England; the thistle, Scotland; the shamrock, Ireland; the fleur-de-lis, France; and the maple tree, Canada.
Come by for this, and many more curated antiques that make perfect gifts for those hard-to-buy people on your list! Or, just treat yourself; you deserve it!

The mutoscope pin up cards feature the art of Earl Moran, Al Buell and Zoë Mozert. The Mutoscope was an early coin-operated arcade device that allowed people to watch 'moving pictures' (often peep shows) by essentially quickly flipping though a book of still images on stiff card stock. One person at a time could use the machine, which was marketed by the American Mutoscope Company starting in 1895. A subsequent firm, International Mutoscope Reel Company, made all manner of penny-arcade machines in the 1930s and '40s, including ones that dispensed 5.25-by-3.25-inch cheesecake cards of young women in various states of undress.
Programs $95.
Mutoscope cards $20.

Want to let people know you are 'Down to Clown' in the fanciest way possible? This Regency era miniature portrait brooch will do the trick!

Debuting this beautiful piece at the on September 8th - a playful, rosy-cheeked Colombina portrait which is artfully realized in rich, hand-painted Limoges oil and guilloche enamel and with inset emeralds and pearls.

This brooch, from the 1830s, is framed in 18K yellow gold, encircled with seed pearls and mine-cut diamonds. An exquisite work of wearable art.

In the 18th century, miniature portrait painting was a genteel pastime. Painted on ivory, porcelain, or mother of pearl, these delicate portraits were often commissioned by the subject themselves or a close family member. A portrait brooch would have been worn to secure a shawl or scarf, or perhaps at the base of a neckline.

Among the many makers of porcelain, the name Limoges instantly conjures elegant and sophisticated decorative art. Limoges china is some of the most coveted decorative art to emerge from France, in part because it refers not to one single maker, but rather to the array of hard-paste factories that thrived in the eponymous town centuries ago.
