Oh, the colour! I stopped in on Wednesday and discovered this beauty. Its 100% organic Shetland wool, overdyed by Toni the owner of TLC Fibre Arts. It has a lovely hand, soft for a wool. I couldn't wait to get it on the needles to see what the subtle colour would do. Reminds me of smoldering embers, the last of a great campfire. It will be a raglan 3/4 sleeve Henley I think. Perfect for a summer evening BBQ!

A beautiful sweater for my beautiful sister to celebrate her 60th birthday. So pleased that she loves the sweater. Designed by me with 2ply mule spinner yarn. Love the colour and cabling design. Made it 3X and hoped it would fit. Started knitting in earnest Feb 20th and finished the day before my flight to Edmonton April 11 (love knitting to a deadline!) to personally deliver it. #60

Project Complete! My new shoulder wrap fits perfectly for extra arm warmth with a vest. This was done with 3 skeins of naturally dyed hand-dyed 2-ply wool. Lovely variation in colour just like the leaves that don't quite get to yellow but have just a tinge of brown (pic).Project finished in 1 month (so great staying power kept me interested right to the finish!) I think it had everything to do with the colour and that it was a simple, enjoyable knit.

The project used every little bit of the 3 skeins. It also prompted other ideas - adding a larger bottom band and creating a buttoned front with some lovely buttons. All explorations for another day. On we go...there is lots on the list and if you are like me, there is also lots on the needles at varying stages of completion! What will be completed next?

Thank you 💗 to everyone who came to visit us on the weekend for The Fabric and Fibre Festival. A great show with wonderful vendors. A pleasure to spend the weekend with all of you. Our amazing hosts Joy and Holly are already working on next years plans for the shows.
I just couldn't wait to put Green is Golden 2ply wool on the needles. I couldn't resist the colour (naturally dyed with goldenrod and iron). The plan is a shoulder wrap to wear under a down vest for those chilly days to come. Such joy from the click of the needles!

Just getting in a quick knit (zen time) before the festival . This is a beautiful hand-dyed 3ply alpaca from Princess Farms in Calgary. It is going to make pretty funky leg warmers with colour changes so different. At least I'll be able to tell my left from my right! See u at the festival 😉
