The website is available for preview! There’s some things that are available to buy now (search the lovey category 😊) but everything else will be available at 7pm pst! I will close the website down at 6:30pm pst to update quantities. Apologies for the terrible photos. Winter lighting is not my friend and I didn’t have time to edit them. Okay, tonight’s release has about twenty dolls. I have got kitties, puppies, girls, a petite panda, and some surprises! All dolls will be live on the website for sale at 7pm pst. I’ll try to have a preview up this afternoon! Stay tuned for story previews too. Any doll purchased by noon tomorrow will be shipped this Friday. There are also some loveys, faith fawns and small hand-held dolls that will be up for sale ($25 and under!). Let me know if you have any questions!

I shouldn’t have favourites but I do. I had several this release and this girl was one of them. She reminds me of Snowhite. Her dress full of dark flowers, her pale skin and black hair. It’s funny. I’m often asked how quickly the dolls sell during a release. I always say the favourites sell within the first few minutes. But here’s the thing. Often my favourites are different than yours🤣 It’s hard, as a maker, to know which ones will be popular and which dolls will take a few days to find their homes. This girl is one of three dolls left available and I’m surprised! However, if she doesn’t find her home, that’ll be okay with me too:)

Last night was huge! It was the largest release in years and came after nearly two years of downtime (with two small releases). I wasn’t sure Fable Kids could be a comeback story but I’m so so grateful this release raised enough to keep the doors open!

Thank you to everyone who shared, commented, liked, made an order, and sent me so much support behind the scenes. The photos so many of you shared of your dolls being loved and having adventures meant so much to me and my family!

As of right now, there’s just a few of the Classic Story dolls left (and some of them are my favourites!), like the girl above! All dolls will start to be packaged up and sent out Monday😊

I’ve got the majority of the larger size (17 +18.5”) dolls loaded up on the website but I’ll need a few more hours to get it all done. I’m so excited to see the response to the new girls with the linen hair! There’s lots of animals too:) And of course the mystery listings! Well all the dolls are finished and just getting their photos taken. Photography day is my least enjoyable part of the process. So many of you are gifted with the ability to take amazing photos, but I do not share your talent! I’m between birthday duties, chores, and shuttling kids here and there today, I’ll be chipping away at the 100+ listings, so the website will be closed until late tonight/tomorrow morning. Im SO happy these mini (7”) dolls seem to still be a hit! Anyone have a favourite..or two!?

If you joined me in my stories last week I asked everyone what animals they wanted to see this release (just two days away!), thinking it would be animals like puppies or ponies, things I had already made. But you know me too well! And there was so many requests for new creatures, and in particular koalas. I abandoned the work I had laid out at once, rummaged through my dwindling supplies, and set out to make one. I was really relieved that so many of you approved of the finished result!🫶🏼 Every creation is a gamble. Now I have two of these 17” koalas looking for a home these holidays. Let me know what you think of her!

Our Story

Fable Kids Handmade is the accumulation of four years of pouring my heart into honing my craft and designing patterns that bring handcrafted, sustainable heirlooms to life for adults and children worldwide.

As a mom of three girls, I began sewing dolls for them when I couldn’t find dolls that weren’t pink, plastic, or made in China. What started as a need grew into a small business, and one of the best dreams I didn’t know I had.

Those early days and long nights spent at the kitchen table, sewing prototypes and dolls after my children slept have given way to having my own studio and hiring fellow mothers with various talents to help build this business. It’s important to me to make sure that as this business grows I’m able to give opportunities to other Canadian mothers who work hard to support their families as I do.

All of my doll patterns are original, drafted and perfected by myself. It often takes months of dreaming, long nights of prototypes and a little frustration in the studio to get everything right. I pour a lot of thought into the safety, sustainability, aesthetic and function of each item I produce, whether it's a doll for a young child or one that is destined for a collector. I can’t wait to make my patterns available for personal use soon, and see the creativity you bring to each doll dress and doll offered.
