Struck by Secondhand carries only maternity and nursing pieces that are in excellent condition and suitable for pregnancy and postpartum. Because a mom of two who’s been in your shoes is running this joint! Each piece of clothing is sourced directly from a local mother's closet. Mothers who are finished with their pieces can sell and/or donate their items to the shop via our online sell-and-donate form. Once a lot is brought into the shop, the clothing is laundered, steamed, and displayed, ready for you to try on during your private shopping appointment. You can also peruse each piece on the website should you prefer to shop online. So no need to pay exorbitant prices for new clothing, or haggle with strangers on Facebook Marketplace. You can feel good about your purchase knowing your money went towards a woman-run local business, and back to the mother whose clothing you purchased! Shop online and opt for flat-rate shipping, or porch pick-up in the west or east end of Kingston, Ontario. Struck by Secondhand has saved hundreds of pieces of clothing from landfills while also supporting local charitable organizations that similarly strive to support local mothers and parents. All overstock and baby items are shared with community non-profit partners such as The Pregnancy Care Centre, YGK Thrift, The Doula Support Foundation, and the Kingston General Hospital NICU. The shop has been awarded two Community Votes awards in both years of its existence. A gold and silver accreditation in the Maternity Clothing category in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
