We are in no way professionals, just faking it through this small business stuff until we make it 😂 Just incase anyone else is like us, we figured we would share some of our tips with you.

1) Schedule your social media posts. The Instagram algorithm is a nightmare to figure out and on top of that Instagram likes consistency. As a small business owner, you're already busy enough that social media often gets put on the backburner. Scheduling your posts is a lifesaver. There are many apps that can help you with this. We personally use Facebook business suite because it's free, easy to use and you can also schedule stories!

2) CANVA!! We cannot say this enough, canva is a game-changer plus there's a free version! Canva is filled with aesthetic templates to help bring your social media to the next step!

3) Hashtags are hard but did you know there are hashtag generators? A simple google search of Instagram hashtag generator will lead you to multiple sites that can help you come up with trending hashtags to get your posts seen! You just enter in a few keywords about your post, press enter, select your hashtags and then you're good to go!

4) Engagement on social media is key! Reply back to comments on your post, like and share other posts! Make small business besties, they're honestly your biggest cheerleaders!

5) Don't be afraid to ask for help! Running a small business is overwhelming sometimes, so don't be scared to ask for help from your friends and family!

Exciting news!

We've been accepted to sell our items on a casual basis at the St.Jacobs farmers market! For those of you that don't know, this farmers market brings in thousands of people from all around Southern Ontario!

What does this mean?
We're doing this on a casual basis so we won't be there every Saturday. We will post on the weeks we will be there to let you all know!

We're still trying to figure out the details on this, but we will be opening up applications for small businesses to sell their stuff in our booth at this market!

Markets are STRESSFUL so we want to share our tips with you so that hopefully your next market is stress free

Let us know some of your tips for running a smooth market that we may have missed! Also, let us know if you want more tips!tely going to work up an appetite after all the hard work of setting up your booth.

2. Bring a wagon! Nothing is worse then having to carry heavy items to your spot and then back again. A wagon makes that transportation so much easier plus you can buy foldable ones at Wal-mart that'll fit nicely in your trunk!

3. GET A SQUARE! Most people opt for paying with debit or credit, cash sales are usually minimal. If you're not sure how many markets you're going to do you can get a magstripe square reader for free on sign up. This is perfect for people starting out. The square for tap and chip is also a really good investment that'll pay itself off in no time. This reader is $59 CAD.

4. The weather is unpredictable for outdoor markets so invest in a tent! We found ours off of marketplace for $35. We also strongly suggest getting sidewalls for your tent that can be found on amazon to help on those rainy/windy/snowy days. They're easy to setup and take down.

5. Add height to your booth. Instead of displaying everything flat on your table, bring in different heights to your booth. We love using crates for this, not only do they add height and extra storage space, it also fits our vintage theme!

6. Bring a friend! If you're a solo business owner, bringing a friend can be helpful in many ways. They can help you set up/take down and provide company to you when you have slower moments. They also can to customers when you're busy with another.
