I started sewing in a junior high home economics class and was amazed at how quickly I loved it! A little bit about me:
- I have been sewing since the Fall of 2000
- I received a diploma from Lethbridge College's Fashion Design and Marketing Program (2008)
- in 2008 I also stated working in theatre and quickly fell in love with that world as well
- I worked at Lethbridge College as an instructor a

nd lab assistant in the Fashion Program for 3 years before going back to school
- I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Lethbridge in Theatre Design (2016) and continue to work in theatre whenever I can

I started out by doing alterations for family and friends and that quickly snowballed into work for friends of friends and so on. I have been altering dresses for grad and weddings since 2009 and still love it! I love when a bride comes to me and once their dress fits them like a glove their eyes light up and they can't help but smile. That's why I do this. I love helping people feel their best and it's amazing what a good fitting garment can do! Because of my extensive sewing background, I not only work on dresses but I can also alter suits so that the groom feels his best too! (That's important for him too!)

One of my favourite things is to open my email to wedding photos from a bride! Kennadi is an amazing individual I had the honour of working with last summer. Being petite meant her dress needed a fair bit of work, but the results speak for themselves. You would never know how much work went in to making this dress perfect for her.

As spring slowly makes it way into our lives, I'll be dreaming of summer weddings.

Please do not request appointments via FB/IG. I have no way to shut this off and just saw that I have missed past inquiries as I had no idea this feature existed and I do not use it.

We have been incredibly lucky so far this year with the lack of sn*w, but that doesn't mean I'm not constantly dreaming about spring and summer weddings!

I think Chrissy & Brandon win for the most unique wedding venue of 2024. If my family had connections to the historic Post Building downtown, I'd definitely have my wedding there too!

Small weddings still require an amazing dress and I don't think many would believe me if I told this dress was purchased online for a very affordable price and the alterations done to make it fit Chrissy like a glove is what makes it look like a million bucks.

With the first snow of the season.... Let's think of summer vibes and check out Shelby's gorgeous dress!

The Alteration Shoppe is relocating to 422 - 13 Street North!

The building I am renting has been for sale for almost two years and I have decided to use this opportunity to expand into a new, larger space.

The new rental I have found will be perfect for the foreseeable future and is still centrally located.

We do not have a concrete move date yet, but we are hoping to move at the end of March. I will post an update here as to exactly what days we will be closed for the move.

Check out the sleeves on this dress!! Jillian is a beautiful soul with a dress that we tailored to meet her exact vision and hug her curves in all the right places. We took the dress in from top to bottom, adjusted the sleeves, shortened the train, and added a bustle for the reception.
