In a wee little basement in the home of Christina Marcano. Christina started in the clothing business over ten years ago when she co-founded an active wear company called Skyler Clothing. Skyler grew quickly and by 2008 they had three stores over two-hundred wholesale accounts and regular appearances on the Shopping Channel and then…the recession hit. The company started to spiral out of control a

nd as a last ditch effort Christina went to pitch her case on CBC’s the Dragons Den. The response was phenomenal. She received an outpouring of support but after a bit of soul searching she realized Skyler wasn’t her true dream. She closed Skyler down and headed back to her basement where she got to work building her true dream - Silver Icing. An amazing brand that offers comfy chic clothing that won’t break the bank. In 2013 Silver Icing launched and is now a thriving online shop with a network of independent stylists. As a young mom, Christina knew how important a work life balance is. She was tired of driving 2 hours a day back and forth from work. She loved being able to make her kids lunch or take them to a park on a sunny afternoon. Being a stay at home working mom was exactly what her family needed and it is from this experience that she committed to building a company that other moms and women could be a part of. Her greater vision is to provide women with the option to balance life and work by having the opportunity to work from home during hours that don’t disrupt the family lifestyle. Becoming an Online Styilst does just that. It is the best of both worlds, everything is online so you can commit as much or as little as you like. You can work when the kids go to bed or nap during the day. Everything can be done online, including pop up shops, so there is no need to sacrifice evenings or weekends to host parties. Hi Everyone!!! You may notice an email that we just sent out about a shipping rate update to customers and Stylists.

We have tried hard to keep our shipping rates low over the years. We were successful at keeping the same rates for over 8 years however fuel surcharges have continued to increase and we are unable to keep them the same. We will be increasing rates starting October 3. The increases are all outlined in the email. We did a thorough analysis of what other companies offer and we are still below the average but I also know that any rate increase can be hard for everyone.

One good piece of news is we simplified the return rate options! We no longer have a difference between credit or refund options which will make for a better customer experience and easier to explain.

If you would like to talk about any of the changes I am here to discuss it all so let me know if you have any questions! On a professional level, I know this is necessary, but on a personal level I am so tired of all the increased costs and I’m sorry we have to proceed with increases. We will continue to do everything we can to keep costs and increases to a minimum and hopefully we will see inflation strat to drop soon.

Allison Berenstain Teddy Coat Review: How fun is this coat!! I love the material, it is so soft and cozy! It's not too heavy and I feel like this will be my favourite coat for fall! It has button closures and a classic collar. It's beautifully made, I love that it has a button on the cuff and it's fully lined! It has two side pockets and chest pockets as well! I am wearing an XL but plan to purchase the XXL as this one didn't quite button!

Christine's Berenstain Teddy Coat Review: This is the kind of jacket that will get ALL of the looks! It feels like a teddy bear but wears like a fashion piece. It can be worn casual over jeans and a sweatshirt or dressy over your Christmas party dress! Fit is long enough to keep you warm and cozy and the sleeve length hits the wrist perfectly. I am wearing a size small and it fits great, very true to size in my opinion!

Kate's Berenstain Teddy Coat Review: This jacket by Vero Moda is glorious!! It’s made from a super soft sherpa-like material but it is SO soft. It’s not lumpy or bumpy like some sherpas can be. There is no stretch to this. I am wearing the size medium and find it very much true to size. I have enough room to layer a thicker sweater underneath. It’s lined with a satin-y lining inside and features functional buttons all the way down the front. There are nice deep pockets on the sides as well.
I am 5’9” and this hits me a few inches above the knee. This will be so pretty with tall boots or jeans and booties. Add to cart, ladies!! It’s gorgeous!

Christine's A Line Above Hoodie Review: This hoodie is a must have! It is SO soft and comfy, but still fairly lightweight which makes it perfect for transitioning to fall. I am wearing my true size small and it's just how I want it to fit. I have a bit of extra room for that slouchy, cozy feel. I will definitely be buying both colours!

Allison's Two Step Boots Review: Oh goodness, are these my new favourite boots? I think so! I am loving the pull tabs on both the front and the back and the elastic panelling on the side! Plus they are so incredibly comfortable to wear as the sole is nice and cushioned! I am wearing a size 39 and it's a bit big, so I know that my true size 38 will be a perfect fit!

Christine's Two Step Boots Review: OK these are so perfect for our BC weather! They are the perfect height for leggings or jeans and have a laid back vibe to them. They look super cute paired with cozy socks and could easily be worn all season long during the wet, cold months. I am wearing a size 39, I find the fit is true to size with room for cozy socks! For reference, I am a solid size 8. The 39 I am wearing was the sample size and although there was a LITTLE bit of room, I wouldn't size down. They weren't too big by any means but offered the perfect amount of room I would need to wear a sock underneath. Stick to your true TAXI size in these or size down if in between!

Kim's Sweetest Dreams Top Review: This is the silliest, softest lounge pj top ever! It's the same body as our Wildest Dreams & Starry Dreamy Top as well! I am wearing the size small but will opt to size up for an extra comfy pajama look! It's lightweight with a silky feel inside and a brushed soft outside. I recommend sizing up for an extra comfy pj look!

Kim's Lounge Arund Joggers Review: I love these joggers! I own them from the first launch and feel the only difference is the material is slightly silkier inside! Nonetheless, I love them! Pocktes, drawstring, stretchy waistband, cute jogger cuff... I honestly wear them with a white Mid Range Tee and sneakers out sometimes too! I am wearing the size small but prefer a looser jogger style look, especially to lounge in so I will opt for a medium in these!

Kim's Quiet Mornings Cardirobe Review: This is the perfect silky soft robe for lounging in! It's got a great hood, inner tie and outer tie to keep it secure, and pockets! YAY! I find pockets are a must for robes! This will also work great over a tank and leggings too! It's super stretchy and all around very comfortable. I am wearing the size small and loved the fit. I don't think I would necessarily want this one extra loose so I will stick with my true size small!
