Bringing into the shop hits closer to home than most people realize.

My entire family comes from emergency services.
From dispatch to those on scene—every role matters. Every voice, every response, every decision. It takes an army to hold the line when the unthinkable happens.

And I’m not naïve to the culture that exists inside that world.
The quiet expectation to carry it all.
The unspoken rule that if it weighs on you, you’re “weak.”
That needing support means you couldn’t handle it.

But the truth is this:
No one should have to handle everything.

We are not programmed to witness what emergency workers witness. To hear what they hear. To absorb tragedy, crisis, and chaos day after day and walk away untouched.

Mental health isn’t a failure of strength—it’s a response to being human.

When the cup overflows, my hope is that we stand together instead of apart. That we create space for honesty. That we stop mistaking survival for resilience.
