Not the intended post for the day but just a little reminder about kindness today. My kid was coming home from work, doing her best to get herself home independently, when something went wrong during the ride. It created a pretty crappy situation for someone else, and we’re taking responsibility for that. But it also reminded me how little we know about what someone is carrying.

Something that looks simple from the outside, like getting yourself to and from work, can take an enormous amount of effort for someone else. Sometimes people are trying really, really hard and things still go sideways. You can acknowledge the impact something had on you and still have compassion for the person on the other side of it.

Be kind. There’s usually more to the story than you can see.

Okay, we couldn’t celebrate five years without making an anniversary sweater!

Meet Find Your Trail, our little nod to five years of Pebbles & Pine, where we’ve been, where we’re headed, and all the weird little paths in between. I wanted this one to feel very us, and I think we nailed it. And because I can never leave well enough alone, there are five pine trees tucked into the design, one for each year.

Seeing something I made out there being worn, loved and becoming part of your lives never gets old. Every order, every photo you’ve sent me, every share, every person who has chosen to support this little business has helped get Pebbles to five years.

I’m so incredibly grateful you’re here. Truly. Five years wouldn’t have happened without you!

5 years. That’s kind of wild! Pebbles & Pine really started with me thinking, “Hey, I can do that… maybe someone would actually want to buy it?” 😂

There was no big plan. I started making things, people started buying them, and I kept going.

I think that’s something social media doesn’t always show very well about small business. It can look like businesses pop up and suddenly they’re successful, but that’s really not how it works. It’s showing up over and over and over again. It’s figuring things out as you go, making mistakes, changing direction, having really great months and really crappy ones, and deciding to keep going anyway.

There have been a LOT of peaks and valleys over the last five years but that little “maybe someone will buy this” idea turned into Pebbles & Pine. And somewhere along the way, we’ve also raised more than $5,000 for organizations that are incredibly important to me. I don’t think I could have imagined that five years ago.

And obviously, none of it happens without you!!

Every order, share, comment, recommendation and person who has come back to shop with me again has kept this little business going. Some of you have been here from the beginning, and some of you literally found me last week. I’m grateful for every single one of you.

Pebbles has changed a lot in five years, and it’s still changing. I have some things coming that I’m REALLY excited about, and I have a pretty good feeling year six might be a big one.

Thank you for letting me keep doing this🫶🏻
