We are going to share some success tips and lures to help you land the big ones.✅

Walleye Jigging 🐟

➡️Tip #1 The bait

The #7 5/8oz Rapala Jigging Rap Gold
( or the classic silver/black top minnow )

➡️Tip #2 The Technique

-Now depending on what you are trying to do, you can do this several ways; do a soft cast about 5-8 feet from the boat and let out slack until the lure hits bottom. Do 2 -3 quick flicks of the lure ( Its not about pulling up hard, let your wrists do the movement) and let slowly sink back down to the bottom and reel in a little bit. Then repeat this process.

What this does is gives the lure a darting look to the fish. More times or not you will catch a fish on the way back down.

Or

-You can verticle drop this lure over the side of the boat. Let it hit bottom and give it a quick flick upwards and let it slowly decend back down. Once you hit bottom flick it back up. This technique is bottom bouncing.

Or

-While trolling at slow speeds 0.8-1mph you will bounce the lure off bottom by flicking up and letting sink back down as you troll along ledges, or bottoms. ( Similar to the verticle drop )

➡️Tip #3 The Area

What you are going to look for is drop off points or ledges, deep holes, rock crevices, these fish generally like deeper and cooler parts of water. Look for spots where bait fish are clustered at these points.

⚠️Generally with these lures you will hook them with either the front or back hook, so keeping line tension tight is key to not losing the fish as it is easy for them to spit the single hook⚠️

Thanks and hope these quick walleye tips have helped you land the big ones 👍
