Happy September everyone 🍁🍂
My daughter and I dropped off some donations at a fundraiser this week. Just the usual stuff. But while I was there, I was eyeing some beautiful quality antiques and was surprised that people are just giving these away (for a good cause)....
It made me reconcile with the fact that the antique market is indeed in a dip right now and has been for a few years. I fear I entered the business at the wrong time - though it flourished in 3 of my stores in London at the time. So like the others, I'm continuing my purge and letting go of very precious things to me, and pushing myself to perhaps change course....
Thank you to my #1 supporter, my mom, for letting her home and property be the walls and spaces that graced my wares this year. She instilled in all of her daughters, an appreciation and meaningfulness of older things and their history. Thank you mom 💕
I think I am off to other adventures this Fall, but I am so grateful for everyone's interest in my page. I hope to post now and again and give you a peek into what might be next for me. In the meantime, please continue to use my page and my posts as a resource for decorating with antiques, and imagining upcycle projects.
