Your tulle might NOT be the problem.

The wrong tulle type, colour layering, gathering, underlayer, volume distribution or support can make even beautiful tulle look cheap.

Great princess dressmaking isn’t about buying more expensive fabric. It’s about understanding how to use what you have intentionally.

The finished dress is beautiful… but THIS is the part of fashion design I love most. ✨

Taking an idea from your head, putting it on paper, figuring out the structure, making construction decisions along the way… and finally watching it become real.

Because being a designer isn’t just knowing how to sew.

It’s learning how to look at an inspiration and ask:

How can I turn this into MY own design?

What silhouette am I creating?
What structure will give me that shape?
What techniques will bring the idea to life?

That’s the difference between simply recreating a dress and actually understanding how to design one.

And it’s exactly the kind of thinking I want every designer who learns from me to develop. 👑✂️

The idea → the process → the result.

Which part do you enjoy most: dreaming it, creating it or finally seeing the finished dress?

$5,000 in fashion sales sounds great… until you calculate what it actually cost you to make that $5,000. 👀

Fabric, notions, labour, fittings, overhead and all those “small” expenses add up.

Revenue tells you what came in. Profit tells you what you actually kept.

Fashion designers, we’re going to be talking a LOT more about pricing properly around here. 💰

Fashion designers, “fabric × 2” isn’t a pricing strategy. 👀

Your fabric isn’t the only thing your client is paying for.

There’s labour, notions, fittings, overhead, complexity, other expenses and, yes… PROFIT.

Two dresses can use the same amount of fabric and require completely different amounts of work. So why should a fabric multiplier determine both prices?

That’s exactly why I created our Fashion Pricing Calculator: to help designers understand the numbers behind what they charge.

Be honest 👀 How do YOU currently price your dresses?

DM “PRICE” if you’re ready to calculate instead of guess.

A $450 order does NOT mean you made $450. 👀

And this is one of the biggest pricing mistakes I see fashion designers make.

You buy the fabric.
You buy the notions.
You spend hours cutting, sewing, fitting and finishing.
Your business has expenses.

Then whatever the client paid gets treated like profit.

Meanwhile, you’re fully booked, constantly sewing… and still wondering where the money went.

Revenue is not profit. And your labour is not your profit either.

This is why I teach pricing for profit inside the Princess Dress Lab, because making beautiful dresses is one skill. Building a fashion business that actually pays you is another.

And I’ve been working on something that will make the pricing part a whole lot easier. 👀
