Yuzu Eyewear Markham Our mission is to take a fresh approach towards eyewear and introduce the world to Japanese Eyewear.

We want to show the importance of craftsmanship and how it affects the fit and comfort of a pair of glasses compared to mass produced optical frames.

Quick Tip! When placing glasses down, don't place them up with the temple arms open in the normal wearing orientation. We are often clumsy and the slight bump will send our glasses, lenses face first, into the table. This is because frames with prescription is inherently top heavy. Obviously this can create scratches over time. Conversely, if you place the glasses, temple side on a flat surface with the temples opened, we can avoid this from happening. And the most obvious choice, is to keep it compact and fold the glasses and have the lenses side facing up! Or lastly you can come by and we can offer you the most scratch resistant coating on the market.

People come far and wide to get high Rx done with us. You can see why. We deal with these prescription like a dime a dozen, where other stores barely see a handful of these prescription in a year. But thin lenses is only one part of the equation. We need to think about frame balance, frame fitment and visual quality. Have to hand it to our friends at for creating this High Prescription Monster aka Midsummer. They got the frame balance and frame fitment figured out, so I only have to worry about visual quality and how thin the lenses can get. So far the highest I've done in this frame is -16.50 👓🤓

Sometimes we need to set expectations when the customer picks a frame that is suboptimal for their prescription, pupil distance and lenses design. That's why i always say to listen to your Optician. But make sure your Optician is well equipped with the tools and knowledge to make your glasses work well. In this particular case, if this customer came to Yuzu instead, we can accurately calculated what is the maximum edge thickness at a particular point in the choosen frame and most likely would've choose something completely different.

Another High Rx (-10.00) properly done and edges nicely trim down and hidden. Besides Japanese Glasses, the next thing we do best are high prescriptions!

After the Flip Up Reel I did earlier this week, I've got tons of interest and sold all three pairs I had on hand. On Monday these are gonna go to our lab and it's going to it's owners. If you want to try them on to see if it's right for you and your needs come by this weekend and check them out. Any orders placed will be preorders and would get them in end of June.
