From remarkable craftsmanship to impressive scale, these bronzes are sure to catch the eye of collectors and enthusiasts alike.
âłď¸Life Size Bronze Sculpture of a Golfer (Lot 100)
A life size bronze sculpture of a female golfer hitting a mid iron. This sculpture was created in the style of a Maitland Smith production. It carries with it an oral history that it stood outside the famous Barclay Fine China Store, Stratford, Ontario, one of the largest importers of fine china from Asia in all of Canada. The impressed foundry mark "Thailand" indicates that it was made in the 1980s and 1990s. Thailand was a global hub for high quality bronzes, and the Maitland-Smith bronzes were also cast there.
đNear Life Sized Bronze Horse (Lot 48)
A monumental bronze standing horse with flowing mane and tail, and Western saddle. This is an artist designed limited edition bronze that would have been ordered for a hotel lobby, corporate centre, or high end ranch. The bronze statue retains its original finish, with the pommel and back of the saddle polished to a warm patina from all the hands rubbing it over the years.
đAndreas Paulsen Bronze Sculpture (Lot 10)
Andreas Paulsen, Danish sculptor, 1836â1915, whose works include statues of prominent leaders in his era, as well as mythological pieces. His works very rarely come to market â most are in museums.
â¨Hattakitkosol Somchai Bronze Sculpture (Lot 130)
A very large bronze sculpture of a bird in flight by Hattakitkosol Somchai (1934â2000), Thailand, signed on base "SOMCHAI 31". Somchai exhibited in several galleries in Thailand, San Francisco, Japan and Germany. Very good condition, very imposing and heavy.
