Hey! It's your girl here ❤ you may have wondered why CleverGirl hasn't been very active lately. I mean, we promised new designs in July!
CleverGirl is not my only work, for the past 4 years I have been an aerial instructor and personal trainer. In March of 2018, I decided to change studios and began working at Kamphyre Creative. I loved that place, but I came in on the tail end of a lot of work with a death sentence on our space. In September of 2018 Kamphyre closed their doors (temporarily) and I found new work.
It also just so happened that I was accepted for upgrades at Dalhousie university, as I hope to enter into their physiotherapy program. I was busy, more than busy. I got burnt out.
I should also mention that I struggle with depression and ADHD. I've spent weeks listless at home, wishing only to sleep and forget how busy my brain is.
The good news out of all this is: I'm on medication now which has drastically improved my life. I'm almost done my first semester back and I have decent grades. And while I miss circus immensely right now, I am choosing to focus on making my life and home function.
What does this mean for CleverGirl? Well, it means that I'm sewing again, after almost six months of nothing. CleverGirl has always been a passion project and it's not going anywhere. In fact, since I'm in school full time, I am hoping to make CleverGirl my main income source in 2019.
How can you help? I still have stock of my current designs and older prototypes. As I grow as a designer, this stuff needs to be gone! So, until it's gone, I will have items for sale at stupid cheap prices (between $10-15)
Their sizing isn't uniform, there may only be one, but I'll be posting on my Instagram story and I hope you'll help this local girl pay for school.
