Our recent medical brigade in the Dominican Republic delivered 75 specialized surgeries over five intensive days, directly improving patients’ health and quality of life.

Made possible by 13 volunteer medical specialists, the surgeries treated conditions including tonsil and adenoid disorders, eardrum perforations, septal deviations, thyroid problems, and more, transforming the lives of patients who would otherwise not have had access to specialized care.

Since 2012, this initiative, in partnership with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in North Carolina, has provided nearly 8,000 free medical consultations and helped more than 1,600 patients. With the support from our 85 employee volunteers, the brigade reflects our ongoing commitment to expanding access to specialized healthcare in the communities where we operate.

For the fifth year in a row, we received the Repreve Champions of Sustainability award from Unifi Manufacturing, Inc., a global innovator in recycled and synthetic yarns.

This recognition places Gildan as one of 90 global brands, textile, and retail partners committed to advancing circularity and helping build a more sustainable future. Since 2021, we’ve helped transform 118 million post-consumer plastic bottles using REPREVE®’s recycled fibres, helping keep waste out of landfills.

The awards celebration recognized this year’s Champions of Sustainability, where Deborah Blayney, R&D Manager, Product Development, received our award from Unifi CEO Eddie Ingle. The event offered a behind-the-scenes look at how plastic waste is transformed into performance-driven yarns.

We continue to integrate circularity and expand our use of recycled materials across our operations.
