Weronika Zdunek, the pioneer behind Dushko International is a dancer first and foremost, having been actively involved in dance and sports since she was a little girl.
This involvement soon turned to passion when she started her own dance school; her dance and pole dance instructors were some of the finest, winning prestigious competitions on the European and world stage.
Having run it for over ten years, it was during this period where she found her true calling. She began to recognise her students’ need for high-performance dance and pole dancewear.
Having witnessed her dancers suffering daily in their sub-standard activewear for far too long, Weronika started to source her own material - started to conceptualise and innovate something that would transform the lives of active woman forever.
Her Mission
Weronika wanted to create dancewear that would not only feel like a second skin but apparel that is as simple as it is durable and elegant.
Through her personal experience, awareness and deep connection to dance, she dreamed of combining functionality and design to create something extraordinary for all dancers to flourish in.
Operating on a boutique level, Weronika started to do just that; Designing dancewear that is built to last, breathable and stylish. However, it wasn’t enough – she wasn’t satisfied with her small-scale operation.
She envisioned something greater; athleisure wear that is equally as practical for casual settings as it is for high-performance sports.
She realised that women need a unique kind of high-performance wear when participating in demanding physical activities and a lot of what is out there on the market simply isn’t up to scratch, nor is it all-embracing.
Joining forces
Her vision came to life when she met Alexander Lapa. He saw Weronika’s raw talent, her passion for the fashion and dance industry and the happy faces of her customers.
He knew that he had to join forces with her.
Alex’s technical ability, strategic mind and talent for marketing was exactly what Weronika needed to take her concept to the next level.
They decided to unite.
This collaboration shaped Dushko International into what it is today; a premium sportswear brand with grand ambitions and passion.
