Silkraft is a small artisan business designing and fabricating women's scarves and men's neckties. It started with marbling on silk. Marbling is a very ancient technique thought to have originated in Japan. It involves floating colours on a thickened solution then transferring them to fabric, paper or wood. After working with silk for a while I wanted to start making scarves that were more casual

and sometimes warmer for autumn and winter. At the moment I have some in wool, cotton, bamboo, soy, llama, linen decorated with shibori, tie-dye and lino-cut printing. I also have a line of scarves made with recycled materials.
