It looks peaceful. Romantic, even.

What really happened was I sat on the bench, he sat in the chair—and then, like he always does, he made his way over to sit beside me.

I was probably overwhelmed, slightly grumpy and giving off strong “approach with caution” energy.

He hugged the bear anyway. IYKYK. 😂

At this point, this very well may be my permanent personality.

Last week, we went to therapy.

This week, the kids came home—and it took us exactly one night to go to bed frustrated without saying goodnight. 😂🫡

Because apparently, one therapy session does not immediately turn you into two emotionally mature adults who communicate perfectly. Rude.

This episode is about the actual day-to-day stuff:

The looks we completely misinterpret.
The help I need but don’t always know how to ask for.
The mental load I insist I can handle—and then resent everyone for letting me handle.
And why two people who genuinely love each other can still need help understanding what the other is trying to say.

We’re not on the brink of divorce. We’re in the thick of marriage, parenting, business and trying not to lose each other underneath everything that needs to be done.

So yes, we’re going to therapy.

And yes, I’ll be oversharing the breakthroughs, the awkward homework and the arguments that prove we still need it. 😂

Turns out, the goal was never to get my old body back. It was to stop treating this one like a temporary problem.

Size 12. Almost 40. Getting dressed, taking the videos and fully participating in my own hot era. 👸🏻

Millennial moms, we’ll still have days in our sweats, high ponies and no bra when we wouldn’t dare answer the door…

But let’s create more moments where we catch ourselves in the mirror, take a second look and think, damn… there she is.

Two weeks without the kids took me through all seven stages of being kid-free:

Freedom & Fun.
Questioning our entire relationship.
Resentment.
Avoidance.
Fear of what life will look like when it’s eventually just the two of us.
Marriage counselling.
And finally… acceptance. 😂

Josh likely did not experience any of this…. however, I absolutely did. 🫶🏻
