This country home in Carleton, Michigan is nearing completion! We stayed true to our principles with integrating lots of natural light and when you open the front door you are greeted with long views of the farmland behind.

The project was driven by the idea of having a rooftop deck on the side and front and creating some way to bring in natural light. With the rooftop deck on the front area this challenged us to create a space to sit up top while having enough height to lift the boat. This lead us to create a raised roof area with a double slope allowing for lots of natural light to filter down to the slips while being situated to allow for taller boats to have the proper clearance height to be lifted out of the water. Another element that we incorporated was 5 foot overhangs on the sides to allow for plenty of shading front the hot Muskoka sun!
