You know you’ve been in retail too long when you walk into the store and accidentally match the mannequin. 😂
Mannequin: Who are you?

Me: “I’m Pam. Who are you?”

Mannequin: “I’m the owner of this house.”

At that point, I wasn’t sure if I was shopping, working, or being replaced! 🤣

Apparently great minds think alike… or the mannequin has excellent taste. Either way, if you come into the store and spot two of us dressed the same, don’t worry one of us is slightly more talkative. 😉

Tell us the truth… have you ever bought an outfit and then realized it looked exactly like something you already owned?

You know that moment when you finally think, “Oka, I’ll just sip my coffee for five minutes,” and one of your employees decides today is the day they’re going to fully reinvent a table display?

They don’t ask. They don’t warn you. They just quietly start moving things around like they’ve been secretly training for a visual merchandising competition in Paris.

Suddenly the folded sweaters are getting “a new energy.” The handbags are being “repositioned for flow.” And the jewelry? Oh, it’s no longer just sitting there… it’s “telling a story now.”

Meanwhile you’re standing there trying to look relaxed, but in reality you’ve entered full surveillance mode. Casual arms crossed. Slight head tilt. The occasional “mm-hmm” that really means I see that you’ve moved that display three inches to the left and I have questions.

And the funniest part? You don’t stop them. Because sometime they’re actually onto something. Even if your nervous system is quietly screaming, “What is happening to my table?!”

So you just let it unfold. Sip your coffee. Offer supportive nods. Internally redesign everything they just did while pretending you’re not mentally rearranging it back to your original vision.

Retail life really is just trusting your team while also quietly auditing their every move from across the room like a very stylish security guard.

And honestly? When it all comes together it looks amazing. (You’ll never admit how stressed you were getting there.)

But that’s the magic of it creative chaos, teamwork, and a little bit of silent judging from the sidelines.

And yes tomorrow the table might mysteriously “need a refresh” again.

You know that moment when you’re vibing with your boss, laughing & talking about what snacks you need for the store… and then suddenly they switch into FULL boss mode? 😂

One minute it’s:
“Did you see that TikTok?”

The next minute it’s:
“Did you finish steaming those tops and redoing the front display?” 👀

Retail friendships are funny like that. You spend so much time together that your coworkers and boss become like family… but every once in a while you get the reminder that yes, this is still work and there’s a to-do list waiting when you get back. 🤣

Honestly though, having fun at work makes the busy days better. A little laughter, a little chaos, and a whole lot of teamwork is what gets us through retail life!

You know that feeling when you walk into work and a shipment of brand-new arrivals has just hit the floor? 😍

Your brain says, “Start working.”

But your heart says, “Just one little peek…”

Next thing you know, you’re touching every sweater, checking every handbag, admiring every new colour, and imagining all the outfits you could create.

Meanwhile, your coworker is following behind you like a parent in a toy store…

“Get to work.”
“Stop touching stuff.”
“Walk away from the new arrivals.”
“Those clothes aren’t going anywhere!”

But let’s be honest… if loving new inventory is wrong, do we really want to be right? 😂
