Dreamy little things coming together slowly ☁️
I do still sew often, despite the radio silence. It’s important that I know I make things for the soul, not for the photo, so I’ve been documenting less and enjoying the process more. There’s a beautiful soul + cause project on the way though! Check out for updates and sneak peeks 🤍

A little spruce-up project complete on a thrift store dress 🤍 I took off some frilly sleeves and collar (think bearded dragon), added a Peter Pan collar and swapped out the plastic heart buttons for handmade wooden ones. I love giving tired garments new life ✨

The last order that went out before the shop closed has a special place in my heart and was so beautifully captured by a sweet mama of girls! My sewing machine has been gathering a bit of dust since but I’m hopeful that winter will bring more time for making. Everything in its season. Happy in the sun for now ☀️

s h o p c l o s i n g 🌿

It is time to say goodbye to Northchild as a business and say hello to a new chapter of sewing for me. It has been a beautiful ride! I’ve loved outfitting your beautiful babies with bonnets and sending little pinafores all over the world - truly the support for this little business has been a gift. There is something so sweet about seeing tiny garments you’ve made with your own hands on your old sewing table pop up all over town and beyond. Northchild was more for me than anyone else (sorry - so selfish!), an outlet for creative expression and an excuse to scour every thrift shop all the time for little bits of recycled potential. I’ve reached a point where I no longer have time to sew for myself as my other real-life business has grown, and I can’t do it all, so this is where we say goodbye. The Northchild page will remain and I look forward to sharing here and there what’s going on in my creative cloud if you still want to follow along.
