Last night was one hell of a night out at the Calgary Saddledome for the 50th anniversary tour of Triumph.

Seeing them live was a bucket-list item for the hubby, and they absolutely delivered in classic rock ’n’ roll style.

I was blown away by how much fire Rik Emmett still has at 72. By the end of those wild guitar solos, my aging knees were begging for mercy. But watching the look on my husband’s face while one of his favourite bands tore up the stage? Totally worth every ache and pain.

And then there was April Wine.
Their music was the soundtrack of my younger years — the parties, the dances, the bars, the freedom of being young and alive. The second they started playing, a flood of memories came rushing back.

Yeah, I was slower getting around the dome than I used to be.
Yeah, staying out waaay past my bedtime nearly killed me today.
But damn… I loved every second of it.

Being surrounded by my people — my rockers, my brothers and sisters of the music world — reminded me exactly why SR exists in the first place.

These are the people I want to create for.
These are the people who embody the SR spirit.
