How to spice up November? Learn about Kilt-making while sampling food and drink from Asia’s Spice Routes
What: an afternoon of information and a demonstration of kilt-making from master kilt- maker Shirley Stapley and her assistant Julie Ricard from Marshall Bespoke Kilts.
When: Sunday November 17th 2-4 pm
Where: Café by Dhruvees in New Edinburgh. Unit 101,18 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, K1L 8L9
Cost and Registration: Cost for advance tickets is only $10 ($15 at the door).
Why: Fun, while learning about the kilt’s history and the artistry of a kiltmaker, and even a chance to order your kilt!
For warmth on this November day, Dhruvees café is licenced and has a great selection of teas and coffees. Also an opportunity to sample the café’s menu – an extensive array of the familiar and the exotic, all moderately priced. Dhruvees owner, Donald Wingell, is half Scottish and half Indian – he’s proud to have his menu reflect this, from meat pies to samosas!
Parking: Free parking behind the restaurant and street parking on Landry street.
