Today is the day. From everybody here in the Kiddytown family we say thank you.

From Goldie, Charlie and Hy who opened the doors on Rideau Street in 1945, from Rhea and Barbara who have kept the business flourishing the last several decades, and from all the staff who have been with us, we give a heartfelt goodbye and thank you.

To all the new parents, grandparents and children who have trusted in us, it has been
our sincerest pleasure serving you. We have watched generations of Ottawa and Outaouais families grow over the last 76 years and were honoured to be a small part of that journey.

IT IS WITH HEAVY HEARTS AFTER 76 YEARS OF SERVING THE OTTAWA AREA THAT KIDDYTOWN HAS DECIDED TO CLOSE DOWN A PILLAR OF THE OTTAWA COMMUNITY. IT HAS BEEN OUR UTMOST PLEASURE TO SERVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU OVER ALL THE YEARS. WE WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL THE END OF FEBRUARY. WE WOULD LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU TO COME AND SAY GOODBYE, WHETHER IT IS TO COME TELL RHEA OR BARBARA ONE LAST STORY ABOUT HOW THEIR DAD TOUCHED YOUR LIFE OR MADE YOU LAUGH, HEAR MIKE TELL ONE LAST STORY ABOUT HIS ITALIAN WIFE OR CHILD THAT NEVER SLEEPS, OR JUST REMINISCE ABOUT HAVING YOUR KIDS OR YOURSELF GROW UP WITH KIDDYTOWN WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU ALL AGAIN. SO I GUESS I WILL LEAVE YOU WITH THREE THINGS: FIRST IS A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE HYMES DAUGHTERS YOU HAVE MADE YOUR FATHER INCREDIBLY PROUD AND HAVE EARNED A WELL DESERVED RETIREMENT, SECOND THERE ARE SOME INCREDIBLE DEALS GOING ON AS WE ARE STARTING TO CLEAR OUT INVENTORY AND LASTLY IF ANY BODY HAS ANY JOB OPPUNTUNITIES FOR ME(MIKE) I AM OPEN TO OFFERS:) THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS...
