As the temperature falls and we are waiting for the snow to come I find myself getting more and more excited because it's this time of year that I start to see people bring out their sparkles! 😍 💖✨🎇

I just love the elegance that starts to appear all around us almost as if to chase away those dark winter nights.

This year I have been feeling so fortunate and I've been thinking of ways that I can give back to the community that has lifted me up.

Then last week on my way up to the closet a thought occured to me... Being downtown we have many neighbors. Some are more vulnerable than others. I would like to pledge that I will give the gift of cozy socks 🧦to support centers for every appointment that has been booked at Closet in the Sky this year. (Yes, this includes when Alex was at the helm!) Since we are already a week into December I will also extend this invitation until the end of January.

Growing up my favourite thing to look forward to at Christmas 🎄 was getting a warm pair of what I called cabin socks. 🧦 And now I cannot wait to be on the giving end this year.

So if you've ever been curious about renting a dress, visiting the Chateau, if you have and event or just want to feel special - now is a fabulous time to make an appointment and help me make a small difference in someone's life. Absolutely no purchase necessary, just come visit us and 1 new pair of cozy socks will be donated to someone in need.

It's my way of saying thank you to everyone who has been embracing more sustainable fashion practices without compromising on style.

It's really been a pleasure to see your eyes light up when you find the perfect dress especially when it's a dress you never thought you would get the chance to wear. 💖

Announcement time! As of September, Closet in the Sky will be getting two amazing new owners, and I will be stepping away from the business.

I will let the new owners introduce themselves, but what I will say is that they are fixtures in the local fashion scene who are going to take the business to new heights, including with new dresses and a souped up studio. You will love them!!

The email, social media handles, and website for the business will remain the same, so you can reach out through all the usual channels. It will just be someone new on the other end starting in September :)

It is bittersweet to be leaving, but I am looking forward to the new opportunities that are coming my way. If you'd like to stay in touch, you can follow me over at .madison on instagram.

*for those who have already booked a rental for this time period, don't worry, we will get your dress to you. We just won't be open for appointments.

We have some good news to share!!

We were fortunate to receive the Ontario Small Business Support Grant, which means we'll be able to buy new dresses for when in-person events eventually start up again 🥳 Can't wait to show you what we get!

New year, new location!

Ok, so the new location is a storage unit. It's not the most glam, but it does the job. In a year where so many small businesses had to close, we (we being me + the dresses) are grateful to still be standing. Looking forward to serving you in 2021 from our humble showroom at 323 Coventry road ❤
