Sit a while, sip your coffee, let the kids play safely while you finally catch up with the friend you've canceled on 49 times.

Play cafe means come with friends, or come make new ones. You will find others who get it.

Play cafe means time for you and time for your little one don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Someone said to me recently that with young kids we often assume the 'activities' are the focus. The carefully curated craft, the meticulously planned excursion, the photo op.

Instead, they said, real connection is formed in the transitions. Putting on their shoes, doing their hair, tucking them in after the 118th bedtime story.

I have to say, as a mom neck deep in the early years of parenthood, I have overlooked those moments more than once while on 'survival mode'. Hearing that those moments are the whole point shifted how I look at our daily life.

I feel so happy to have built a space that celebrates little moments of connection. The proud toddler barista showing off their pretend latte, or the excited little builder showing their parent their magnet tile creations... I get to see a thousand tiny moments of connection play out when our families visit.

Here's to building more memories in the little things ❤️

I was an overwhelmed mom of 2 littles searching for a place to recharge while they play. I couldn't find one in Ottawa, so I built it.

Because children deserve permission to play and curated spaces designed to be explored.

Because parents deserve actually fantastic coffee and a moment for themselves where they can hang their "mom" or "dad" hat and just be themselves.

Because young families shouldn't need to choose between something for the kids or something for the grown-ups.

Because the early years of parenthood can get lonely and a community of people who get it makes all the difference.
