Fresh from the garden! A R U G U L A socks are now live on my website and Ravelry. And I'm having a sale to celebrate. Take 25% off YOUR ENTIRE ORDER using the code SALADLOVER25!

These stranded colorwork socks are full of fun details and techniques to keep you engaged. And there are two charts for each size, so you can make the socks mirror images of each other. No second sock syndrome here!

My sample was knit using Mondim, which is a lovely non superwash yarn from Portuguese Wool. But any sock yarn should work well.

Cast on and eat your greens 🥗

Last but not least of these tree designs is maybe the most adaptable tree in North America? Change my mind! I've seen lodgepole pines growing straight out the side of a cliff, in swamps, on rocky ridges, on mountains, and everything in between. So I knew I had to include these guys in the lineup.

This sample was stitched up using two different colors of worsted weight to create a mottled look. I alternated random-shaped blocks of each color and just had fun with it. I feel like the simplicity of the overall design of these pillow covers (tree silhouette + lettering) gives you a lot of freedom to have fun with the color scheme without making the finished product look busy.

I hope you guys are ready for to finally drop. They are going live on Wednesday, Feb 1st at noon!

D O U G L A S. The next tree in the lineup is a familiar friend if you live in western North America: the Douglas-fir. These guys grow in so many different types of forest, reach epic heights, and can live for over a thousand years. Their wood is also really prized for all types of building projects. Really just an awesome tree all around.

This is 1 of 7 designs in my Pacific Forest collection. Kits are coming NEXT WEEK! and the patterns are available now, if you prefer to use materials from your stash.

The next tree in the lineup is arbutus, also known as . These have the coolest flaky bark and intricate branches like a maze. My husband's family lives on and these beauties are all around their house.

This design is 1 of 7 in my Pacific Forest collection of embroidery patterns. I'm excited to launch KITS for these starting next week! In the meantime I'll keep introducing you to each of the trees.

T S U G A. The next tree in the needlepoint pattern series is mountain hemlock. These rugged conifers make me think of skiing in the Coast Mountains. A lot of routes around Pemberton and Whistler will take you through at least one grove of big, old mountain hemlock, towering over like a cathedral.

This is 1 of 7 designs in my Pacific Forest collection of designs. will be available starting next week, and the patterns are available now on my website and Etsy (links in bio).

Pacific Forest collection, tree #2: Sitka spruce. I will forever associate these guys with surfing, because of the wonderful place that is Tofino, BC. There's something pretty cool about conifer trees growing right out of the rocks along the shore.

This tree is 1 of 7 designs in my Pacific Forest collection of patterns. Stay tuned for more reveals this week leading up to the release next weekend! The patterns are also live on my website and Etsy (links in bio).

KITS ARE COMING, patterns are live! It really bothered me that I never got these burlap needlepoint designs out the door before pregnancy caught up with me. But they (and my little guy) are here now. The Pacific Forest collection includes seven tree species, each native to the PNW. I'm gonna launch the kits next week, and introduce you to one tree pattern a day leading up to the release.

Today's tree is the Pacific silver fir (also known as the amabilis fir in BC). This stately tree has really pretty foliage and the name "amabilis" means "lovely" in Latin. I feel like they more than deserve that name, but then again I'm partial to all trees. This sample used blocks of colors in cotton embroidery floss. You could also experiment with doing a fade/hombre look or just rock a single color. The pattern can be purchased from my website and Etsy (links below).

Stay tuned for more trees and kit info to come!

PATTERN RELEASE! Lets kick off 2023 with a design I first dreamed up two years ago😳 but never got the chance to publish: Poplar and Vine. It's now available on my website and Ravelry, and it's 20% off this week (no code needed). Beat the January freeze and treat yourself to a very cozy project.

Some pattern notes:
This scarf is knit in the round so it looks good on both sides and is squishy, cozy, WARM. One side has some fun cables and the other side is just simple stripes. So you can keep yourself engaged with some detail for half the round and then turn your brain off and unwind for the second half.

Yarn info:
I made my sample using The Farmer's Daughter Fibers Pishkun in color Chinook Winds. This is a heavy DK/light worsted two-ply yarn spun from with a lot of bounce. But you could really make this is any yarn you like. If you want a narrower width, go for a lighter weight yarn and use a smaller needle (and do more chart repeats to get the length you want). If you like this width, find a squishy DK or worsted and follow the recommended gauge.

Happy new year everybody 🥳

Sorry for dropping off the face of the earth! I had to pump the brakes hard on my design business while I was managing some complications with my pregnancy. Great result though 🥰 Little man is happy and healthy, and I'm ready to sling some patterns and kits again. Stay tuned for a few different releases this winter!
