Internal networking should not be confused with external networking. Internal networking is who you network with inside your workplace. External networking is making connections with people outside of your workplace.

Give and take relationships are also applicable in the workplace. Remember to balance what you give and take with your coworkers. If you do some favours for your employees, they will be more likely to do favours for you in return. This is how you build quality internal relationships.
Connecting with coworkers on different forms of social media is another great way to network internally. This allows you to make friendships outside of work. This can boost relationships inside work. An important note here is avoiding posting controversial content on social media.
Building trust with coworkers is key to internal relationships. They need to trust that you will follow through with what you say you will do.
Building connections with other connections is a great way to internal network within the workplace. Getting your close coworkers to meet other coworkers is a great way to create a greater group of connections.
Building on connections is a great way to improve internal networking. Meeting someone once isn’t a good enough way to network. You need to keep the conversation going to have a meaningful connection.
