Mary asked the angel, “How shall this be?” and Gabriel answered, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” The disciples asked Jesus, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” To the father of a boy possessed by a destructive demon Jesus said, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” This boy’s father, with tears, made a statement—a prayer for help—that the Lord will always answer: “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.” Our faith is not perfect. There are areas wherein we fall down, and in those areas, we miss some of the things that would
have been “possible” otherwise. The Lord does not demand great faith, at least at the beginning, but that we simply use what faith we have. Jesus said, “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed ... nothing shall be impossible unto you.” The mustard seed is one of the tiniest of seeds, but if placed in the proper soil, it will quickly grow into a large tree. Such is faith. At the beginning, it may be small and seemingly insignificant, but if placed in the proper soil of the Word of God, it will quickly grow. So small faith or little faith is not necessarily the problem. The secret is using what faith we have and, with proper use, more will be added.
