What have I been up to with sewing? I made a belt for a baby’s dress with the cut off from the hem on a bridesmaid dress, I will be adding sleeves to this navy blue mother of the bride dress, I am adding team badges to some bomber jackets, I made a custom window bench seat and matching throw pillows, I made a pair of curtains with reverse box pleats and two sets of lined curtains with reverse box pleats for the same client. Not pictured is a full set of outdoor cushions recovered in white outdoor fabric including 2 lounge chairs. It’s been a busy summer!

Today’s projects included a wedding gown, bridesmaids dress, kilt, and baby receiving blankets and matching burp cloths.

I was working on this bridesmaids dress today and I just wanted to share so info. The hem from the manufacture was so uneven that the amount to hem from the front is a lot more than the back. The second photo shows that there is no hem at all on the tulle skirt, just a raw cut edge. The third photo shows the manufacturers liner hem which is a rolled hem. I normally finish all sheer fabrics with a rolled hem and the liners too. It gives a nice clean finish.
