We're incredibly proud to share that Rachelle, along with another dedicated Girl Guide leader from Powassan, was recently recognized with the Bronze Unit Guider Award for Good Service.
While the award is a wonderful achievement, what it truly represents are the countless evenings, weekends, meetings, camps, and events spent helping young people grow into confident, capable, and caring individuals.
Volunteering and community service have always been important to us. We believe in programs that help young people develop life skills, leadership, confidence, and a sense of responsibility to something bigger than themselves.
Between the two of us, we're involved with Girl Guides, Scouts Canada, 4-H, the Powassan Farmers' Market, and a variety of other community initiatives. Not because we have endless free time, but because we believe strong communities are built by people who choose to show up for one another.
In many ways, we've lost some of the community connections that previous generations enjoyed. Neighbours helping neighbours, people sharing skills, and communities rallying around one another used to be a way of life. We believe those connections are more important today than ever before.
To all the volunteers, coaches, leaders, firefighters, organizers, mentors, and community builders who give their time to make Powassan the place it isโthank you. Communities don't thrive by accident; they're built by people who care enough to get involved. โค๏ธ
