It is with great sadness that I have decided to (hopefully temporarily) suspend U.S. shipping at Eutierria Arts. I have not been able to dedicate the time required to navigate the current cross border shipping situation.

To my U.S. customers:

I have had so much support from you since the beginning of Eutierria Arts, thank you! I truly hope to be able to make shipping available once again.

Is it worth me spending the time to set up shipping? Would you still make purchases with the added fees? Let me know your thoughts!

To my Canadian customers:

It is with great sadness that I have decided to (hopefully temporarily) suspend U.S. shipping at Eutierria Arts. I have not been able to dedicate the time and mental bandwidth required to navigate the current cross border shipping situation.

To my U.S. customers:

With the duties and tariffs added to your order it looks like this would eliminate the discount your strong dollar provides when making a purchase in Canada.

Should I put the effort into making shipping possible? Would you still order from me with the additional fees? Your checkout experience would be a bit different, communicating with me, custom invoices etc.

I've been busy growing a little pumpkin! 🧡

My pregnancy so far has required all of my energy and attention which is why I have been very quiet but I am hoping to feel like I can be present here again soon.

I've missed you all and I am excited to reconnect and have you here with me as I explore what the future of Eutierria Arts will look like with the addition of a little one in my life!

Polyethylene terephthalate or PET which is also known as No. 1 plastic is one of the most recyclable plastics in use today. This is the plastic which is used to make plastic water and pop bottles.

While many plastics degrade in quality when recycled and can only be recycled a handful of times, PET is the exception.

Ontario-based Ice River Springs Water Co. even claims they're "infinitely" recyclable using its recycling process.

All of our plastic bottles must be being recycled into another plastic bottle then, right?

Nope.

In 2015 nearly half of Canada's recycled PET was sold to the U.S. as "fibre". One of the applications for this recycled PET fibre is clothing.

The pair of yoga pants with a tag bragging about being made from recycled plastic bottles in an attempt to sound relevant in the sustainability climate are missing the mark.

"Turning plastic bottles into non-recyclable clothing is not a sustainable solution" - Cat Savidge

Once plastic bottles are recycled into clothing, circularity is halted.

Natural fibres are circular by nature.

Geelong wool is often described as the softest lambswool in the world 🌏

Geelong wool is produced from the first shear of merino sheep in Geelong, Australia 🇦🇺

Because of differing climates, sheep of the same breed but in different locations can produce different quality wool which is why the distinction is made with location when it comes to Geelong wool. The mild climate in Geelong creates a uniquely soft lambswool. 🌄

Geelong wool is woolen spun; the fibres are spun using a criss-cross pattern to produce a lightweight knit with an airy loft. This is different from merino wool that is worsted spun; the fibres are aligned parallel and uniform creating a smoother and less airy knit. ☁️

The softness of Geelong wool is often compared to cashmere and I can confirm that it does in fact feel like cashmere as I recently thrifted two Geelong wool sweaters by Celtic & Co. What a find! 👏

I have kept one sweater for myself and the second one sold at the clothing swap event on Friday night. I knew it wouldn't last long when people had the chance to touch it in person!

PS. Geelong is pronounced "juh-long"

A beautiful cotton knit doll by Cuddle + Kind that has been reworked by Eutierria Arts.

Skye the mermaid was found all alone and with a broken tail. Her tail has been mended and her polyester filling has been replaced with silk filling. She is now ready to go on some ocean adventures with a new best friend.
